Hey guys

I knwo this sounds noob. But I have 2 8800 GTX sli's and my current case can't make it all fit
I am wondering if I can use the middle PCI E slot with the top one to run nvidia SLI?

Some says it works

anyone know?

Thanks.

I'm sorry to say but this will not work. The cards have to be in the specific slots allocated to the 16X express lanes. I would suggest getting a Thermaltake case or any other with the internal drivebay turned 90° so the interface of the drive is facing towards the side panel. Nice cards BTW(envy) Hope you get it solved soon so you can enjoy them.

The Lanfire unfortuneatly has been discontinued you can confirm if it's still available from these sites It does have 1 less internal drive space if your using a floppy than the Matrix does but far superior in its offerings with the fancontroller able to run 10 fans and monitor 1 temp probe. The full-size version of the Lanfire tower is the bomb if you can find one V1000(A) and V2000A.

These are just some cheaper cases that offer great room and excellent cooling. Newer model's and looks would drive the price up of course. The Xaser III was very cheap for a case with so many features all though highly priced at the time as cases went. But when considerering the quality and care taken to the machining process(no sharp edges) and efficiency of the layout and quality silent fans(still silent after 5years). One can't buy the cheapest case put that many fans and a controller in it without modding and come in at the same price.

why not bring out the motherboard manual or drop the vendor a support email? Technically; the GTX is capable of doing Tri-SLI; I would assume, logically, it's possible to put any two cards in any two slots combination. Look in the bios to see if there is switch. For my nForce4 Asus motherboard; I could actually use the 2nd PCIE-16 for video card (single and none SLI); all I had to do is change the bios to say my card is in the 2nd slot. But Asus recommend to have the card in the first slot if not SLI; but it's there for your option.

Hi

I have a Lian Li V1000B case that I got on ebay for cheap
It's a watercooling unit that uses up 1 bay
The tech that installing it is saying that he needs something to lift it up by an inch because the video card piping or something is interfering with the connection of the card and putting pressure on the silicon

you can find my case at the lian li website

I'm using DD 8800 waterblocks so I can have the single slot solution to fix it but I'm not so sure it works

any ideas for what would help raise?

What are your system specs? I'm not sure what your trying to raise and inch If the watercooling uses the first expansion slot this shouldn't be a problem unless it uses two slots. I need more detail for any further help. sorry

www.koolance.com
it's the PC3-725SL

I have 2 8800's with the DD water block that has the SLI fittings ( so they go in trans formation due to the loop) that are single slot cooling solutions for the card
the motherboard I have is a striker extreme

anything else you need just ask, but from what it seems like he's saying is the reservoir protrudes the space left for the PCIE slot (Since the slot beneath it is useless) and is touching the video card block (waterblock) somewhere and making it feel alot of pressure, and on top of that will not fit unless I find something that will alleviate this issue...

Any other info just ask
Thansk so much
