Nforce DD audio connections?

Can Nforce boards only do dolby digital or Eax (in the future), with the S/PDIF interface? I really only want this board for sound card. I was thinking of gettting the Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 speakers, which need a front, rear, and subwoofer input. Anyone know what analog outputs the nforce has? If not what's the best speakers with S/PDIF? Finally, any idea if it can simulataneously output to S/PDIF and analog?

The MSI board also has a SPIDF output that fits in a PCI bracket and plugs into the board asiide from the analog outputs. It can be clearly seen in the Tbreak review as well as the HardOCP review.

The A7N266E supports both in it's ACR (riser card).

My question is why would you want both? Especially if you get 5.1's.

Lastly, don't count on audio API's for a while. I sent an email to Michael Lim, the product manager for nforce. Will post when I get his response why the nForce is so late and why there are no audio API's supported (it was supposed to support EAX, A3D, Sensura).

What audio system does the Xbox support currently then? Is it something new and off the wall? I haven't seen that aspect covered from a programming standpoint anywhere.

msi nforce supports 4 analog speakers it is set by a jumper on the mainboard,it actually uses the line in input socket to enable front and rear speaker support.(u have to set jumper to enable)

i have only tested support for the 5.1 Dolby via the spidf connector,cant comment on EAX or other digital media.

Reason I'd like to use both is to have my mp3s in 2 parts of my house. I was gonna hook the digital connection to my surround sound system in the other room and use the analogs for my pc room. Problem is 1) I need to use the line input for a tvcard 2) I won't have any subwoofer input for Klipsch speakers. I may just get get another MB and the new sound blaster. Anyone know if there are even plans for nforce to support EAX 2.0 or 3.0. From what I know EAX 1.0 pretty much sucks.

@ this point nVIDIA only is planning on EAX. It also boils down to a licensing issue. I think given the fact that the nForce audio is factoring into some folks' purchase decision, they will be less likely to do so.

Loba, you have tested the DD encoding? How does it sound, I'm really interested in how it does with a stereo source such as an mp3. I can't find a single sound card that will output my mp3s to 5.1 in a digital interface. Also for analog support, any chance it uses the mic then for center/subwoofer data? Where is the jumper, is it described in the pdf manual? BTW, nvidia says EAX "soon".
