All,
I'm heavily leaning toward purchasing an nForce2 motherboard to replace my current GA-7VAXP. Before I do, respectfully solicit input from this forum on the following questions.
1. First of all, I need at least one RAID connection I can use as an IDE controller to support two additional IDE devices (six IDE devices total should be good). As for the type of motherboard I'm looking for, I don't need serial ATA, don't need an integrated video card, don't care what sound options it has as that's not important to me, and hopefully a motherboard that has passive cooling. Is this possible, and what are good motherboards that fit these parameters, with extra IDE connectors being my primary concern?
2. I've read in some forums that there may be a problem with nForce2 motherboards causing a "whine", don't know what causes this other than perhaps a weak power supply. As for other reports of the problem, I got the info here: http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=4034&highlight=nforce Has anyone had problems with this, and did you do anything that rectified the problem?
Thanks much in advance,
hawkeye
