nForce2 soundstorm - bass control???

I have the Logitech Z560 speakers and recently got an nforce2 board with soundstorm. The sound quality is absolutely great, BUT i need some way to control the bass. As you all know of, the bass in the Z560's can be a bit strong at times. In the audigy i had before, i could tone down the bass with a slider in the creative software. Does this exist for the soundstorm?

Hey be patient, it's been less than an hour. I don't have an Nforce2 board so I can't help but I'm sure someone will. Just give it time.

In the nForce Tray utility, enable the equalyzer. Pick a preset, or adjust how you want.

In addition to the equalizer there's a few options in the "Speaker Setup" tab you can mess with. You can change your "LFE crossover frequency" to adjust the LFE channel output (woofer) and you can also adjust the premix volume levels as well. I believe all the premix volume levels are max'd by default, but what you can do is lower the volume level for the subwoofer and keep the satellite outputs max'd. This will adjust your line level output, at which point you can adjust overall volume through your receiver, or in your case, the Z560 volume hub. Once you've achieved an acceptable level of bass for your satellites (by adjusting the equalizer and the LFE crossover frequency), I would then just use the external volume control on your woofer to change your LFE output.
