Solid performance last night by the Wings. Good play on all sides of the team. Just some bad bounces that went the Coyote's way.

The game of the night though was up in Buffalo. Ryan Miller = Stud. The flurry of pucks that were getting to Ryan and the chippiness during the entire game means this series is going to be epic. If you're son/daughter wants to learn how to play goal in hockey, you just have them study last nights game tape. Miller can steal this series if he continues to play like he did last night. I loved his presser after the game, "No, I don't answer to my critics. I don't answer to reporters who never spent time playing goal in the NHL. I really don't give an expletive what they think."

You know what? I love that he said that. I never played sports at a professional level, or even any level above high school, but I do still play them to this day (almost 30), and it irritates the shit out of me when these armchair douchebags act like they have any clue what they're talking about. Yeah, the only criticism of Miller that I've ever heard in general is that he can be over-aggressive. But he's probably referring to the critics of his two losses.

He did give up 8 goals in 2 games but two were off the PP. So 6 goals on 57 shots is not a great save % (51/57=.895 vs .916), but averaging in his wins I'm sure he's over 90%. To only look at two losses is incredibly myopic, and such a small sample size that it's statistically insignificant.

Are you serious?!? All the replays I saw Ruutu hit Erat from mostly the front, and made initial contact with Erat's chest/shoulder. There was very little, if any at all, contact with the head. It was a stretch to even call it a penalty.

Show me a video, with conclusive evidence, that shows Ruutu making initial contact with Erat's head and I will agree with you. I'm all for punishing players that do headshots, but the league needs to be fair and consistent with what is handed down.

Edit: Also, care to comment on Tootoo's attepted crosscheck to the head after skating all the way from beyond the circles to below the goal line? Compare the two incidents, there is clear attempt to injure with Tootoo's play whereas there isn't with Ruutu hit. If Ruutu is suspended but they don't consider Tootoo for suspension, I will be beyond disbelief!

They need to keep forechecking, and hope that the Flyers don't forecheck. I didn't see the Flyers do it much last game, and the Sabres kept it up.

Montreal Boston is a great game. Habs coughed up a 3-1 lead, they are going to have to come out with guns blazing in the 3rd to stop B's momentum.

RE: NY vs Wash, 2 interesting stats. 1) NY had a pathetic 3 shots on 7 power plays yesterday. and 2) NY had never lost after leading 2 periods this year (29 wins) before their chokejob at MSG.
