You got game 5 sog backwards
I don't understand why the Sharks looked so bad. Even in game 2 which I thought the Wings deserved to win, the Sharks were suffocating in their fore-check. None of the Wing's defensmen had a chance to make a play. A lot of the time in the offensive zone the Wings were forced to cough up the puck and the Sharks moved the puck well in their own zone and cleared it easily. Yesterday, the only time I saw any life from the Sharks was right after they scored. Yesterday, it seemed like every time the Wings defensmen had to clear the zone the Sharks were changing and they had all the time in the world to move the puck. In fact, I thought giving the Wings D all that time made them a little tentative, trying to make the perfect play.
Are the Sharks tiring? They are a bigger team and they played a longer series in the first round. They always say the bigger team will grind down the smaller team, but in the Sharks case this might be turned around with the bigger team having to expend greater energy chasing around smaller faster guys. Another small aspect that might be affecting this is the fact that Zetterberg is just now getting his skates under him. This will all be drivel if SJ turns the jets back up for 60 minutes.
Yeah, I'm sitting at work right now going over everything on NHL.com, Detroit Free Press and here. Wierd, this is only the second round and I'm treating it like a game 7 in the Cup Finals. No, wait. That's innacurate. I wouldn't be at work today if the final game was tonight. I'd be making a road trip to Detroit and be there with 25,000 of my closest Red Wings fans.
I'm liking these trends.
Shots on Goal through 6 games:
Very true. Wings/'lanche series, hell even games, you were in front of the TV for. Even the casual hockey watcher would be talking about the game the next day. Now it's the Sharks, and we have a history with them now. Need to erase 1994 from their minds.Kinda reminds me of the old Wings-Avalanche playoff epics of years past. It seemed like those series' were bigger than the finals, epecially considering whoever won usually crushed whatever team the east put up.

So do you see Sharks/Wings becoming like the Wings/'lanche series of yesteryear?
Oh, and for AMDZen:
Thank you for saving the day again.
Uhhh, except you did it wrong.
San Jose was the one who had 42 shots on goal in game 5, so you have it backwards. Nice way to see what you want to see there though.
I didn't even look at the other games, I just knew right away that that was backwards, so you probably made other mistakes as well.
As an Avalanche fan, and (for the time being a Sharks fan as well) I would definitely say its off to a good start. Doubt it can live up to that rivalry though, unless what we've seen these last two years continues for another 8-10 years
8-10 years? Lol are you still confused as to how long the Av's brief period of relevance really was?
Ya if you had read the thread you'd know the mistake was already covered.
I guess I meant relevance in the eyes of the Wings. I mean, we were talking Rivalry right? If you want to talk straight up relevance, the Sharks were good before the Avs run, and are still good after, so ya they got ya beat there too. 2002 was a good series, despite you guys getting but raped in games 6 and 7. Since then you are 0-8 in playoff games against Detroit. Thats a total of 10 straight playoff game losses to Detroit. Ya, we pretty much forgot about Colorado.
I made the chart mistake on purpose? lol ok, que creepy music. It's a conspiracy.
It was always relevant to Avs fans, and we couldn't care less if it was relevant to you or not after 2002. The eternal arrogance of Detroit fans has never been in question. You have to make up for your fandom somewhere, since the rest of your sports teams have never been relevant at all.

2004 NBA Championship?
2005 World Series?
lol just STFU already.
You forgot the Detroit Shock
2003, 2006, 2008 WNBA Titles
And I dont have the stats handy, but the Detroit Rugby team is pretty fierce.
