Spotted 5 Goals! The Canucks sure are generous....

I think Game 6 will happen

Wonder what the largest deficit overcome is?

“Nine teams have overcome a five goal deficit to win the game. But, probably the most remarkable of these was the St. Louis Blues on November 29, 2000. Down 5-0 in the thrid period agains the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Blues scored 5 goals in 15:27 and won the game 18 seconds into overtime.”

If the Canucks were playing the Leafs I wouldn't be worried at all!

Perhaps 7 too?

In my heart I want the Canucks to go all the way....but from a monetary point of view, I need Chicago to win.

The Hawks sure fleeced whoever they traded that stiff Cam Ward to for Leddy; I think it was the Wild.

That kid shows all the sign of becoming a really good D man.

Yeah. My original prediction was 5-6 games but I didn't think it would be like this.

Next game is make or break. I really question their mental resiliency to play a game 7.

Kings folded like a cheap set of lawn furniture. Canucks are playing russian roulette by letting Chicago hang around.

Ugh, I can't stand the Canucks! Things aren't going there way so they turn into a bunch of toddlers and start throwing tantrums and punches. What a bunch of punks! They deserve to lose.

Did not expect the Hawks to take a commanding 2-3 lead in this best of 7. If Vancouver retreats back into it's shell on Sunday, it'll be all over for them. Chicago proved it can go anywhere in the league and win games. My gut is saying that Vancouver will win on Sunday, but I have a feeling that the United Center is going to be crazy. But I think the bigger question is Crawford. This series will have to go 7, does he have the focus and drive to compete in a deciding game on the road?

He isn't like your typical rookie. He is 26 years old, so I think his maturity level is higher then you would expect most rookies to be given his age. From what I've been hearing on the local radio, he is also very relaxed before each game, giving brief interviews and chatting it up while most goalies try to get into the zone. I think Crawford will be fine.

The series will probably come down to who can take the momentum in the first 5 minutes of each game and not let up at all until it's too late. John Scott, as much as his skating is shit, agitates the shit out of Vancouver and has taken them off their game just as much as Bolland has. Unless they can fix those two problems, its going to be a rough game in Chicago.

Are you serious?!? All the replays I saw Ruutu hit Erat from mostly the front, and made initial contact with Erat's chest/shoulder. There was very little, if any at all, contact with the head. It was a stretch to even call it a penalty.

Show me a video, with conclusive evidence, that shows Ruutu making initial contact with Erat's head and I will agree with you. I'm all for punishing players that do headshots, but the league needs to be fair and consistent with what is handed down.

Edit: Also, care to comment on Tootoo's attepted crosscheck to the head after skating all the way from beyond the circles to below the goal line? Compare the two incidents, there is clear attempt to injure with Tootoo's play whereas there isn't with Ruutu hit. If Ruutu is suspended but they don't consider Tootoo for suspension, I will be beyond disbelief!

I don't really need to show much of anything. The league decided it was enough to warrant a suspension and Erat isn't even traveling to Anaheim due to the hit.

As for Tootoo, I honestly missed it because you guys were whipping our asses by the time that happened so I was in bed.

Yeah I think the much more physical style that Chicago has applied in the past two games is really paying dividends. Vancouver seems to be rattled and better snap out of it soon... especially since many of the teams in the East are just as, if not more, physical.

Anyone have the stat on away teams winning? I know it has to be around 2/3 of the time, holy hell.

Well here ya go... http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/pu...o-Ruutu-gets-latest-1-game-sus?urn=nhl-wp3155

Video of the Nashville feed and of the LA/Anahiem feed. Sounds like even the Preds announcers didn't think the hit was a big deal. This was definitely a suspension was only because Ruutu and the Ducks have a reputation. The hit itself has been almost unanimously called a hit worthy of penalty but nothing else. It was not to the head, not blindside nor vicious. As someone else said in my link "Erat was floating through Neutral as if it was a No Contact league" and he paid the price.

Let me describe for you Tootoo's hit. He skated from between the blue line and the top of the circles straight down below the goal line and narrowly missed Lydman's head with his stick which was being held in both hands in a cross-checking manner. He was put in the penalty box because of the intent to injure. It doesn't matter the score or the time, Tootoo's play was MUCH more dangerous and more worthy of a suspension.

Don't really see much wrong with that hit except it was late. The Torres->Seabrook hit was way worse, blatant shoulder to head with no suspension. The League is a just a joke for suspending Ruutu because Erat got hurt on the play.

I agree, especially since it was most likely a shoulder or arm injury, not a concussion or head injury.

I guess we can know that if a player injures another player, with an otherwise non-suspendable hit, that we'll see a suspension? I would venture to guess no.
