I know this is ancient history now, but did anyone else think the third goal by SJ was off sides? Coulture was a stride and a half into the zone when he got the pass. Nothing was said by the Vesus announcers, but then they're having a hard speaking while having SJ's ball sack in their mouth.
Really? I watched the replay and I see no effort to drag his foot in fact it looks more like two strides to me now. Like I said, ancient history. It wasn't. Coulture dragged his foot and the puck crossed the blue line before his foot did. Legal.
F Detroit.

He doesn't have the puck right here:I think you are seeing what you want to see.

And the puck is already across the line. Whats your point? That picture proves nothing. I watched it several times on my tv. It was close, but it wasn't offsides.
Well, first you said he dragged his foot which that pic shows he didn't. Now, you say the puck was over the line. That's funny because person passing him the puck is just crossing the line. It could be very well be onsides because the boards are obscuring a good view of the puck, but nothing is obvious.
Well, I've watched the replay a dozen times off the Versus website which shows two slightly different views. None of the replays show a foot drag. Am I retard because I didn't resort to lying to make a point? Are you retarded? I was commenting on the picture you moron. IN THE PICTURE, the puck is already across the line. IN THE GAME, he dragged his foot to delay him getting wholly across the blue line, waiting for the puck to cross first and then he exploded out. Do you need me to explain the difference between the game and a blurred picture to you?

For someone who probably the lone TB fan in all of Canada when the Lightning played Calgary in '04, this was a nice comparison.

We got away with the Bert goal in game 4 and if SJ did indeed get away with the non off sides call then I call it even steven.Well, I've watched the replay a dozen times off the Versus website which shows two slightly different views. oh yeah... I think Mule killed Thornton.
Out West, San Jose really sht the bed last night. Dropping a 2 goal lead in the third to a malaised Detroit team was chokariffic, and it didn't help that Howard had his best game of the series. Kronwall, Zetterberg, and Datysuk (bad hand and all) all came up huge after getting badly outplayed early on. SJ dominated the first two periods and then autopiloted the 3rd which didn't get it done. SJ will still probably win the series but you'd hope it's a lesson learned to play hard all 60.
If that's the play that happened in the first period, the one where Thorton went after Franzen's bad ankle, both players went off. Franzen for slashing and Thorton for 'embelishing'. We've all been hit in the shins with sticks before, but Thorton made some soccer players ashamed as he went down.Holy shit where is the suspension on Mule? No need for slashes like that in the game.
On that note, what the hell hapened to diving penalties? No longer on the books? I remember it was actually looked down on to be a diver, now it seems to be standard practice by a lot of players.
They should have gotten Thorton for slew footing the Mule of course that swan dive had to be acknowledged. If that's the play that happened in the first period, the one where Thorton went after Franzen's bad ankle, both players went off. Well, SJ was outplaying the wings, however it did seem like they were laying it on a little thick.I haven't checked what channel would broadcast a potential game 7 between SJ/Detroit, but if the series comes back to San Jose, I hope we don't end up with the same Versus announcers. Those guys were retarded.
