Wow those plycon cables are tight! I just did an ATA100 IDE cable, floppy cable, and 50pin SCSI cable yesterday. I think it was pretty easy, not one mess up. But there's no way i'm going to mess w/ my U2W cable, I'll buy one when its avaliable

The cables at plycon.com are the same as the ones from pccables.com, although the ones from plycon cost more and come in yellow according to the picutre. If they came in other different colors that would be cool, why they picked yellow, I have no clue.

Just a quick question: Can you use these ATA/100 on ATA/66 Hard drives? I have a strong feeling you can, but it would be nice to know for sure before I place my order. I just ordered the MILLENIUM case from www.colorcases.com and I want to keep my setup as clean as can be. Thanks a bunch...

Yes, you can. My HD is an ATA-66, and my CD drives are ATA-33, and the cables are working great.

p.s. why do people need professionally looking cables for the inside of their PC? I can understand the outside, but inside, where no one is going to see them?? Unless you have your case off, which looks awful by itself and then who cares if it looks professional?

Everyone has a certain preference, if you don't mind ugly homemade rounded cables thats fine. But there are plenty of people who don't want to make a project out of getting round cables, they just want them without the hassle. And the people who like them cause they look professional are most likely case modders who have windows on their side panels and like to show off the insides of there computer.

Techwhore: ATA66/100 cables are the same. They were never called ATA100 cables till now that the ATA100 drives are out. But all ATA66 cables work at ATA100 also.

I want to order round floppy cables, but I do not want to pay that much at plycon, and I don't want it to be yellow when all my other cables are grey.

I just tried to order some from Plycon. Their web page says they have some available because of orders where the credit card was rejected. However, when I ordered them, I got a error message that says they are out of stock. This happened on the IDE and the floppy cables. They must have sold out the ones that became available.

Just go to PCCables.com they have the exact same ones as Plycon but they are cheaper and they are not yellow.

Yea man I know they don't got any, that sucks cause I wanted 1 also. But I am not buying one from Plycon cause they are yellow and they cost more than the ATA100 cable here at PCCables.com

Grrrrr... Still no rounded floppy cables?!?!

Do you realize how silly my PC looks with three rounded cables and one ribbon cable?

I just read thru this posting and I checked out the links, but I have one question. Why does the picture at PC Cables show a 40 pin cable inside of that rubber casing? The 3 connectors are colored like an ATA66/ATA100 IDE cable, but there are definitely only 40 conductors showing at that grey connector.(I enlarged the picture to 400% and counted them to make sure)Can anyone that has bought these verify that the cable is indeed an 80 conductor cable. Thanks

I purchased three of them from PCcables [see pics that are linked above], and they are ATA-66/100 cables. (At least the ones in my pc are.)

Well, for all of you who say it's so easy to round your own ATA 100 cables, come to my house and show me. I tried to do one myself since I had 2 extra cables here. With a very sharp razor I made my first cut and saw bare wires. I have no idea how you can cut those 80 wires without exposing any bare wires. Cut #2 bare wires, cut #3 same deal. There's no way I can make a cut without exposing a wire. Well, I guess I'll be spending my money to get a "professionaly" made cable. Anyone want a brand new ATA 100 cable with a bunch of cuts in it with wires exposed?

i wish i had gotten the pccables cables before they hiked up their price =(

anyway, those pccables ones use twisted pair cables. and that decreases crosstalk already.
