So, is the mobo from mwave retail boxed? The one from Newegg says it says.
I'm thinking no.
Could just get it from Newegg and still get the rebate
You don't. If you purchased this over the weekend for ~$100 the MB was "free". The title of this thread is "...some XP cpu's w/ free soyo board" means if you purchase an AMD Athlon XP CPU you got the motherboard free. The MB sells for ~$50, cpu~$100=$150, but you only had to pay $100, so free MB. Or buy now and use the MIR to get the MB for "free".Originally posted by: goblue420
i dont understand how to get the free CPU with it?

I bought mine online on 3/22/04 for the 2600. Shipped 3-day was about $96. Too bad I can't use the extra rebate though since rebate will not exceed purchase price.
So if you did get it on 3/22/04 with the instant rebate you can't get the additional Soyo rebate.

I finally got my shipment. I ordered the MB + XP2600 + 128MB RAM.
First off, when I hook up the HSF to the FAN1 hook-up that is next to the ATX hook-up, the fan doesn't turn on. I have to use the fan hook-up that is on the other side of the board that is for the Chasis...so when I do that, the fan turns on but I don't get boot-up screen. I have tried putting in my spare stick of ram that is an Infineon 2100, but is 133 CL2. It won't boot up with that one either.
Anybody else haveing problems getting the board and cpu and ram working?
PS, the 128 stick of ram that I order from them is the 266 DDR
Thanks,
Martin

No problems here - everything is working fine.
Your fan issue is suspect though especially since the board won't turn on if it doesn't sense a fan attached to the CPU (via the CPU fan plug). The manual specifies that the system will beep and then shut down after only a couple seconds. Check connections and maybe even try a different fan.
Good luck!

AXDA2600DK3VD
AIUCB 0351SPAW
AXDA means AMD Athlon XP 0.13 micron
DKV3D spelled out
D = Package type = Organic Pin Grid Array (OPGA)
K = operating voltage = 1.65 volts
V = maximum die temperature = 85 degrees celsius
3 = Level 2 Cache size = 256 KB
D = maximum system-bus speed = 333 mhz
This is not a Barton, a Barton would be like "DKV4D", the number 4
in the fourth position indicating 512KB level 2 cache. This cpu will
run at a FSB of 166, with a multiplier of 12.5, yielding a speed
of 2083 mhz.
This exact same cpu on NewEgg is selling for $84 for the bare cpu.
Oh, and the "0351SPAW", the 03 means 2003, and "51" means the week number within the year.
