I too have an Escort Passport 7500 and love it. I probably could have gathered the cash for a Valentine 1, but after reading as many reviews on these 2 units as I could find, I figured I'd save a couple hundred bux. Both of these units will detect cops from 2 miles out (which actually kinda sux because for the next TWO MINUTES I have to drive slow, hehe). I know people with the V1 and I have to say that the "expert mode" of the 7500 (with the up to 8 signal tracking at once, 2Ka, 2K, and 4X, each with its own signal strength bar) kicks the crap out of the V1's little number that shows you how many signals it's picking up. The 7500's auto-sensing feature works really good, as it constantly adjusts to the "noise" in the environment and is good at picking out only the real signals. What's really nice about the expert mode is in times like when I'm driving to work, there's ALWAYS a full strength X-band signal that shows up for some reason (and I haven't been able to figure out where the hell it's coming from for over a year now) so I can just ignore that one as I watch non-locals with a detector slam on their brakes. Then if I see another bar show up, I know that that is definitely a cop. And I know for a fact that the 7500 has a pretty decent range on picking up lasers also (I don't think many people have had the opportunity to encounter lasers) since I've been hit twice since I've had it. It makes a scary ass noise when it detects laser and says LASER in all caps on the display and freaked me out the first time I heard it, but it certainly saved my ass. Let me also add that this unit paid itself off within the first 2 weeks I had it, easy (in avoided tickets). And I'm sure it's paid itself off more than 20 times over in this past year+, hehe. I have actually seen it say "Train Approaching" a couple times, which was actually really handy in one situation, since I was able to scoot down to the next crossing in time to make it over the tracks! One last thing, I also want to add that the "KIT in Knight Rider" display is KICK ASS. I think there are practically 20 or so variations of the idle display... I use the one where it has the mode abbreviation on the left (A,H,or C <auto, highway, city>) and then a little dot that sweeps across the bottom of the display. You can have the letter move across the display and a bunch of other variations too. Oh yeah, one last thing, since the unit is programmable you can change a couple of nice features like X-band sensitivity in City mode (normal, reduced, or off) and you can put it in Loud mode (which doesn't really make it louder, but it makes all of the beeps in a much higher frequency range) which makes it much easier to hear it over the Metallica I'd also like to add a "You're Welcome" to all of those people out on the road that I flew past and then you noticed me slam on my brakes for no apparent reason, but you got smart and matched my speed and then saw the cop on the other side of the hill.
