kevin moore from OSI and Chroma Key. He is a master pianist who's musical genius is too grand to be put into words. He knows so frickin much about music and sound, including physics type stuff. He knows how music affects the mind. His music is a blast to listen to, especially on high fidelity speakers. If I could send every soldier at war right now a cd to listen to, it would be OSI's "Office of Strategic Influence."

Maynard does have a very strong out reaching voice, not to mention he can sing in whisper strenght or yell out a lung like mel gibson in braveheart.

The one thing forgotten is, who is this kevin moore fellow? Is there a radio station playing his song so I can stream it live and compare it to my Lateralus AlbuM? (please don't tell me he's a classical performer with Julie Art's training and such, its about how your vocal and writing skills attract an audience.

Arguing technical ability in the context of popular music is retarded. Sure there's *some* merit to that argument depending on what type of music you're talking about, but at the end of the day realize that some of the most popular and critically acclaimed musicians and songwriters of our time have technically been very average: Trent Reznor, Elliot Smith, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson. There's a lot more but these are some of the names that just popped into my head. You know that the Sex Pistols could barely play at all, right?

Technically, that assclown Josh Groban can probably sing Maynard and your butt buddy whatever his name is under the table. But do I like his music? Hell no.

If you WANTED us to listen to a new artist, or make referance to a new group's cd you happened to pick out, perfectly fine by anyone here, I'm fine by it as well. I love Maynard's voice - there's just something about it.
But without a doubt there are other vocalists that are just as good or better.

Even though i've heard much more of Trent Reznor, i'd have to say Maynard is pretty good at sending chills up your spine. (not saying that Trent can't do it, it's just that it is kinda expected from the guy when sings stuff like, "i-wanna-fck-you-like-animal"

Kevin Moore was also the keyboardist from Dream Theater on Awake (and maybe some other CDs; brain fart)

Frankly, I've never been very impressed with maynard, and I have yet to hear Moore sing, but I don't think anyone alive can match Devin Townsend for sheer vocal talent. He's from Strapping Young Lad, and also has some solo albums. Listen to "Things Beyond Things," the whole thing, and tell me if you know of anyone else who can do what he does
