Nick Swisher is the worst player in the history of major league baseball

In fact, he's the worst player even if you included the minors. Even single A ball. He can't hit. He can't field. He doesn't even seem to understand the basic rules of the game of baseball. Yet this retard is being paid $5.4 million for fucking up in every single game he plays in 2009. That's more than I'll make in my life. I hope he spends it on a sports car and wrecks it, it's the only way the Yanks will have a shot at the postseason this year. If Castillo didn't drop a popup, this would have marked a unique hat trick for Swisher; making your team lose 3 games in a row, all by the 1 run that you cost them. Is he the world's greatest negotiator? Does he give the world's greatest head, and only the Steinbrenners know about it? What gives?

I was thinking Castillo is right behind Buckner when it comes to missing easy plays. Too bad the game wasn't a more significant game.

Luis Castillo needs to die.

that being said the Mets always find a way to beat the Mets. Why do I root for this team?

I like how he jogged lazily to Pedroia's fly ball on Wednesday and let it fall for an RBI double. THEN he decided to play hard (had a nice catch later in the game). They lost that game by 1.

I absolutely love to see Yankee fans in distress.

After years and years of pain as a Red Sox fan, we deserve it dammit!

Neifi Perez will always be the worst MLB player. For god's sake, he had a statistical index named after him for futility:

the Neifi Index[1]. Named for infielder Neifi Pérez, this statistic measures a player's ability to contribute to his team's success by not playing. Introduced as an award that "we, the great whiffing, grounder-booting, sedentary lifestyle-leading masses, wouldn't just have a chance of winning if we were allowed to play. We'd be a lock", the Neifi Index is the difference between a player's team's winning percentage when he does not play and when he does play. It is called the Neifi Index because when Kaufman first computed it, the San Francisco Giants winning percentage when Pérez did not play was .929, but was only .542 when he did play, thus giving Neifi an index of .387

Really? Swisher has a .920 OPS (above his career average) among other pretty decent stats. Just because he's sucking on defense doesn't mean he's costing you games.

Jeff Francoeur, on the other hand, really is one of the worst every day players in baseball with a .616 OPS and a negative VORP.

That was so sweet, and then he throws it to second while the winning run scores.

It's really crazy that he's still playing every day. Any other team and he'd have been sent back down or released already.

I still don't know why Girardi doesn't play the outfield Damon - Gardner - Cabrera. Outside of April, Swisher has brought no offense to the team that Gardner couldn't make up in spades just by being able to steal a base without fucking it up.

Swisher should be the fourth outfielder, not Gardner. Gardner needs his chance to play every day. And when Nady comes back, he can give Matsui a break at DH and take over in right every once in a while.

Also, Cervelli should catch at least 2 out of every 5 games. Even going back to last year, Posada's ability to call a game has really gone down hill. He's a great offensive catcher, no doubt, and I've liked the guy since the 90's...but we need to be looking at the future here, and Cervelli is definitely the Yank's future every-day catcher.

On Wednesday he got doubled up running the bases when he didn't tag up on a ball hit in the air. He also dropped an easy flyball which landed for a double, scoring a run. They lost that game by 1 run.

On Thursday he got doubled up again. He really doesn't understand the rules of baseball. On a first & third situation with 1 out, there's an excellent chance the Yankees could have scored. They lost that game by 1 run as well.

Last night he dropped a moderate flyball, not easy but far from difficult, especially for someone being paid 5.4 million this year. The guy who hit it ended up scoring. If Luis Castillo didn't drop that popup, they would have lost that game by 1 run too.

Even Nick Swisher could have made that catch

I love Swish, he brings a charisma to the Yanks that's been missing for a while.

Have you guys watched Adam Dunn play the outfield this year for the Nats? Brutal beyond belief. Last series with them, the Phillies got a bunch of extra "doubles" and "triples" just because he was out there. Sometimes he doesn't even try to get to the ball, other times he just gets a lousy jump, butchers the route, and waddles after it futilely.

He is the very worst defensive outfielder I have ever seen, and that's saying a LOT!
