I went to the casino today. Lost a couple hundred brutally fast on the blackjack tables and so I limped over to the 5 cent slot machines.... I put my 20 dollar bill in and got my 400 credits and was good to go... before I know it I have a $214.35 balance... holy sheepsh!t, time to cash out and go back to playing blackjack!

Not so fast... blackjack dealers still mean to the fool and I am back down to $20 again in like no time flat.

So, the fool says to his self, "it worked before" and heads back to the same machine that gave him $214.35 on a $1.25 bet earlier and says "show me the money" and the very same machine says "hmm, I like you.... here's another $350 for your measly $1.25 bet... don't you know you can bet like $5 worth of nickels all at once?" :laugh:

Man, if it wasn't for that one machine my day woulda sucked but instead I got enough "walking around money" to last me for a month or so. The end.

How many decks can you count if the casino uses multiple decks?

The casino here uses that never-ending automatic shuffling shoe... normally I make money on blackjack but today it gave me a blackeye. Oh well, win some, lose some.

Well you dont count cards in that sense against a shoe with multiple decks. You count cards by assinging them a value

Aces and all ten value cards become (-1)

7,8,9 are neutral

2-6 are (+1)

So as the cards are coming out you just add them up and keep track of the count in your head.

When you have a high positive count. That means a lot of low value cards have come out the deck. So the Aces and faces will most likely start coming out. Therefore you would want to be betting a little bit higher when you have a high positive count. And the dealer is more likely to bust a hand.

A negative count means a lot of the 10 value cards have come out. And the deck is now rich in low cards. Which is bad for the player and good for the dealer. because he will make his hands. Therefore you should be betting lower.

Thats just the basics pretty much.. theres more to it with true value, which is the running count divided by the remaining amount of decks left in the shoe. Which gives you a more accurate count of the shoe.


This info is pretty much useless against the casinos with the constant shuffler machines.
