Nidec and Papst fans good quality?

are these fans(nidec and papst) good quality and worth buying over a sunon or panaflo?

I don't know about the nidec (although I hear it they are OK), the papst fans, IMO, are top notch. I have an 80 MM that I stole from an older PC and this thing really moves the air. It's also very quite. The motor seems really much larger than most other fans...In fact, it's so large, it acts like a gyroscope in your hand....

I would recommend them....

Papst fans are excellent, Nidecs are very good.

The only problem with pabst fans it the relative lack of general availability and cost.

I have the Nidec Gamma 28 from Radio shack. It's the running wheel design. It directs air in around a 1"x1" area very well and I use it to cool directly onto my duron @ 1Ghz. It is pretty quiet, I'd say around 30db or so and it blows probably more than a 60mm YSTech fan(27cfm). I've had it for about 6 months and it's run perfectly.

My 120mm intake/blowhole fans are Papst. They really move some air, and are great quality. They are made of metal with heavy duty plastic fan blades. I purchased 4 of them from a guy on the for sale forum awhile back, and compared to a lot other brands that I used, I think the Papst are the best. As far as Nidec goes, they are good fans also, and as Mikewarrior2 said, are easier to get than the Papst.

Almost all my case fans are Nidec ones, and I have a lot of case fans
None of my case fans have failed me.

I have some 80mm Nidec fans which are the 2nd best 'quiet' type 80mm fans there are - Papst being the best.

sorry i can't help with model numbers but i have a nidec 120mm fan as an exhaust blowhole(its the thermal sensored one if that helps any) w/o the thermal sensor hook'd up and that thing is pretty loud. i ALSO have a 120 mm papst fan as an intake side fan and it's alot quieter.... however the nidec fan seems to blow alsmot twice as much air when i put my hand over the front of both fans.

troll, you can't compare high CFM fans with low CFM fans, even if they are of the same size. I have a 120mm Nidec fan with monitoring too, and it blew 112CFM but was somethng like more than 45CFM. I spoilt it by connecting the wires wrongly, and got it replaced with a 58CFM Nidec 120mm unit, and this one is much quieter.
