I would appreciate anyone's technical expertise with my situation. I recently reinstalled WinXP SP1. I have 3 HDs. I installed on HD2 (labeled as "D"). I had a C(40gb) drive and a F(120gb) drive previously. After the reinstall the F(120) and C(40) "switched" names, and the boot.cfg is now on the new C drive (120). I ordered an external Firewire enclosure for the 120gb from NewEgg to be delivered tomorrow. When I pull this 120gb drive, I'm assuming my computer will no longer boot because of the now missing boot cfg. Is there any way to pull this HD and set up my comp to know where to boot from?
Notes:
Before Reinstall:
C (40, boot cfg was here before)
D (80)
F (120)
After Reinstall:
C (120, boot cfg is now here)
D (80)
F (40)
I'm pulling the 120 and still want to boot.
TIA
