I'm a recently college graduate, but unemployed. I currently day trade during the day, but I have a relatively small account, so it's harder to make money. I am able to make money consistently, but I need a larger bankroll to be able to make a living. I'm looking for some night work so I can save up enough money to join a prop trading firm.

I have a degree in economics and management. i have work experience as a telecom technician, network administrator, life settlements analyst, business loans agent, accountant, and office manager. I am also taking actuarial exams on the side, however, cannot find any actuary positions. If I become a successful prop trader, I may abandon that.

What are some night time jobs that have decent pay?

So you want to work at night and then trade during the day?

Sleep much?

I live on the west coast. Market hours for me are 6 am to 1pm (not including pre-market and after hours). After 1pm I'm free to do whatever I want. Lately that has been watching movies, recreational reading, studying for actuarial exams, and charting / stock research.

I sleep about 5 hours a night and a 20 min nap everyday. I was experimenting with polyphasic sleep cycles to maximize awake hours during the day. This seems to work for me now that I've gotten into the rhythm.

When I hear 'night work' I think 'night work', not 'afternoon work'.

What's your criteria for 'decent pay'?

Telephone service rep. $12-15/hour, 40 hours a week plus bonus. My wife did this through college. If you decide you hate it and do the bare min you can pull in 30k/year with bonus. If you go mad with sales you can pull in 60k+. My wife worked with one guy who was making 130k/year, more than the site manager who was in charge of 500 employees. Not bad income for a college student or recent grad looking for work in his/her field.

UPS? FedEx? General Warehouse?

How much do these pay? I thought these are pretty much minimum wage?

I can work "nights". I need to be off work by around 5 - 6 am. No one said I need to work in the afternoon and sleep at night.

"decent pay" is relative i guess. minimum wage is not decent pay.

What kind of hours is this? Seems like it would be during the day and I cant work before 1 pm.

It seems like my options may be limited. If worst comes to worst, I think I might have to accept an actuarial position in the midwest or east coast. At least then I wont be working for peanuts.

No they pay more than minimum wage. Also if there's Home Depot's or Lowe's near you they have night shifts as well. Night shifts anywhere usually pay more.
