Anyone know where to get one new for the lowest price and in stock? Abe's of Main has it for about $117 shipped but none in stock. Seems to be the lowest I can find.

I don't care about the reviews. I'm simply not going to spend more than $500 for such a slow lens. Sure it has stabilization, but come on.

are you implying F/3.5-5.6 (aperture) relates to speed? speed in what, autofocus? im pretty sure aperture size has nothing to do with speed.

yea...speed relates to aperture size....fast = wide = usually 2.8 or larger...

yes hes right, a "fast lens" is typicially one with a min apature of 2.8 or smaller, a 50mmf/1.2 is a very fast lens
thast being said nikons VR typicvally adds 2 stops so if you meter at 1/60 f/8 you can basicially shoot it at 1/15 f/8 and it wont be blurry

so its not an actual measured speed, but a technical term?
