yes hes right, a "fast lens" is typicially one with a min apature of 2.8 or smaller, a 50mmf/1.2 is a very fast lens
thast being said nikons VR typicvally adds 2 stops so if you meter at 1/60 f/8 you can basicially shoot it at 1/15 f/8 and it wont be blurry
