If you read this thread before tonight 12:00,
then here is a great deal:

1. visit www.ebate.com and register an account,
2. from www.ebate.com, find a store name called
photoalley.com and click it.
3. In photoalley.com, search Nikon 995 and
then it is 749.95$, click to add it to your
shopping cart
4. during checkout, enter a coupon code
"santaclaus" , this will take 10% off, that is 674$ now.
5. Now, check out using American Express Blue
card.
6. Photoalley will give you 100$ gift check,
7. Nikon will give you 100$ rebate. The final
price is now 674-100-100=474$
8. Call American Express and ask for Price match
with www.regencycamera.com, which sells Nikon
995 for 479$. They should refund you 674-479.99=194$

10. Because you register at ebates.com at the first
step, it will give you 3% of rebate of your total
price that you pay. That is 674*3%= 20.2$

Therefore, finally the price is

674-100-100-194-20.2$ =259.8$

The photoalley.com 100$ GC expires tonight (12/19)!

It is a heck of a deal, but I dont think Id count the $100 photoalley gift check as cash...
more like $360 + $100 photoalley giftcheck.
Not like there's too much more there to buy!
Plus, wouldnt this still be hotter with the MSN thing?

$674 after 10% - $100 MSN, -$100 rebate - $194 PM = $280 plus $100 gift check.

I order it tonight. I received my Blue card this afternoon.
Looking the whole procedure, the only part that I am
not sure is the Blue PM part. But from other Nikon 995
threads, I believe that the PM should work. (I should get
194$ from Blue)

>>>6. Photoalley will give you 100$ gift check<<<

Only if you are very lucky...waiting a month already for 2 $100.00 gift checks. PhotoAlley has gone way downhill and is pretty scammy lately (that has been covered in other threads).

I did 2 pm's on the 995 with Regency for a total of $250 back from AMEX Blue. Excellent Card ! Great deal, I with I was in the market now, rather than 5 monthes ago, I would of saved another 175 buckaroos. Great Post! Oh, the 995 if a fantastic camera. Enjoy, if you get one.

I just went through the checkout procedure.

There is a big big problem:
The $100 gift check cannot be combined with
any other promotional offer. the 10% off coupon
will invalidate the $100 gift check.

Stopped at the last moment and did not order.

I did have the same concern. After
adding 10% coupon, the message
"you earn 100$ GC" disappear.

please call Photoalley and ask the CSR.
the CSR I called double checked and
told me that I should be able to receive
my 100$ GC via Email on 12/21.

I am not sure but what I did is to take
her name and go ahead to place order.

nah....liar..... now they extend the gift check to today. They use script to mark today's date as the last day offer so you buy the product right away. BTW, now they don't offer $100 off MSN.

I called AMEX-- just for clarification and the limit for your BLUE refunds ($1000/yr) tolls when you make the claim, not the buy. So what ? If you are at $1000 NOW, like me, you can simply PM it in January because AMEX starts their year in January regardless of when you joined.

I was told the yearly refers to your cardholder anniversary year (i.e. the date you joined to 365 days later), and NOT a calendar year.

"That's why I drive the big car and you drive the little one, Jim" (I forget what movie that is from)

I called AMEX and had the clueless CSR hand me over to the examiners (the people who actually work there) Then I asked them when the period starts. They said Jan1 -Dec31, regardless of when you started your account. Even if you started Dec 31st, you get $1K for that day and another K for the next year. They calim it is that way for accounting purposes. I called 2 different times, got two identical reponses, and a promise to mail me the policy in writing and a note on my account indicating that I called about the topic. Call them back and ask to speak to an examiner.

My wife purchased the Nikon 995 thru Ritz for 799 and had them PM to Cameraworld to 759 ( 749+10 shipping).

759
-100 (msn)
-100 (rebate)
-250 (amex pm)
$309

At the same time, I purchased the Nikon N65 35MM SLR camera from Riz for 379 and had them PM to Cameraworld for 359 (349+10 shipping).

359
- 20 (my avalable MSN limit)
- 30 (rabate)
- 90 (amex pm)
$219

Ritzcamera PM with Dell is better as you get 10% off. Also, ebates & MSN for PhotoAlley would not have worked unless you are ready to send a bunch of e-mails to MSN. MSN promo requires that you go to the participating retailers from MSN links. I think it's the same for ebates 3% cash back deal.

I think ritzcamera is a better deal as you don't have to have crappy 100 gift card unless it's part of MSN deal.

I was able to get Sony DSC-S85 from Ritz for 799 - 80(Ritz PM with Dell) - 100 (MSN Reward) - 230(Amex PM) - 50 (Sony Rebate) = 340

To make the deal even better I bought Epson 785EPX printer from Circuit City last week for a final price after GC's and Amex PMs for $105.
Buying this printer along with a Lexar 32MB Memory Stick for 32 gave me two more Epson Rebates of $100 + $30

Final Price for Sony DSC-S85 + Epson 785EPX(Photo Quality Printer) + 32MB Lexar Memory stick + Sony CyberShot Camera Bag(Sony Reward for registering the camera online is $20 gift check. Used it to buy this bag for 19.99)= 347

So, Nikon owners who need a printer should try and get a bargain on this printer and buy a Lexar Memory to get $130 in rebates. Better yet, if you buy Adobe Photo Elements, Epson gives another $50 rebate. Epson requires only copies of receipts and UPCs and allows multiple reabtes for each combination.

Happy Holidays ATers. Without you all, I wouldn't be a gadget guru among my friends.

Hmmm...the only Sony rebate that I know of for the DSC-S85 applies if you buy a Sony computer system...does this $50.00 rebate appliy to the purchase of the camera only? Is there a link?

$50 Sony rebate is when you buy Sony Digital Camera and 16MB or more capacity Memory Stick. Sony wants original UPC cut from the camera box. So, it's a good idea to keep couple of copies before mailing for the rebate. Look HERE for the $50 rebate.
