I price matched my Ritz with Dell and got $100 instead of $50 (Dell is doing 10% off).

You might want to try that. Then the camera is only $350

Has anyone successfully implemented Ritz's pricematch policy?

(Edit: I would *really* like to do this deal today (1/3/02) and just want to make sure that Ritz isn't gonna say "Well, they didn't meet our criteria...", etc.

* Dell is a "Qualified Internet Retailers"
* It appears to be the "identical product in-stock and the product is priced accurately"
* There doesn't appear to be any "special give aways or customized outfits" included, except the "Ritz Digital Advantage", but I don't think that should affect anything....
* No coupons, promotional offers, or product-bundles, etc. )

Please advise. Thank you.

I did. I pricematched with Dell. She said at first that they didn't pricematch "sale" prices at dell but then checked something else and let it go through. I got $96 back. My camera will be $260 in the end.

$260??? Did you type that right? How are you getting that? I have:

$800 (Ritz)
- $250 (AmEx PM to multiple places)
- $100 (Rebate from Nikon)
- $100 (PM from Ritz)
--------
$350

What $90 am I missing, or did you get in on the MSN deal?

(Edit: I went back and saw that indeed, you did get in on the MSN deal. No way for me to do better than $350 now, right? Not to be greedy or anything

How can you price match and get back $100, and still get another $250?
The deal I did was through Dell
$692
- $212 AmEx PM to Regency Camera for $479.99)
- $100 (Rebate from Nikon)
-------
$380

Once you price match with a company, they would credit your card, which AmEx would see which reduces the initial amount you paid,
so you wouldn't get back as much from them.

Was anyone able to get that to actually work?

Yes, I think Clobo got in the MSN deal also .. so his Nikon would be:
$799.99
-$100 from Dell pricematch)
------------------------
$699.99
-$250(from amex pricematch
------------------------
$449.99
-$100(from MSN Deal)
------------------------
$349.99
-$100(from Nikon Rebate)
------------------------
$249.99 Nice Deal Clobo ..

If you bought directly from Dell you will got the same price like wheels4.

Hey all:

Help me out here. I called (starting to think that was a mistake) Ritz because I have to mail the "proof that Dell is cheaper" to an address in CA, and I live on the East Coast. Worrying that it wouldn't arrive until after the 8th (when the 10% off sale ends @ Dell), I called to ask if I could fax it, etc. The CSR was really nice, but told me that they would only pricematch to the advertised starting price, i.e., $769, and *not* the 10% off price (769 - 76.90 = 692.10).

I assume that all who have posted here have actually rec'd the $100 "credit" from Ritz.

So do you think:

1) They've 'caught on' and have enacted the "subject to change at any time" clause in their Low Price Guarantee?

2) I just got a friendly but unlearned employee who said she couldn't get the system to accept that lower price

Whaddya think?

HI,

I was trying to match with Dell's 10% off. I think they had the camera for $769-76 (10%)=$693

When I called they said they don't usually match % off ads. Then she said, "let me check something else" and put me on hold for a short time. When she came back she said she could match a price of $704 (not sure where that came from) so I got $96 back.

I might try calling back and seeing if you get a more sympathetic person on the phone. Or search the other "accepted" retailers and see if anyone else has it cheaper.

It could be trouble for you unless you keep buging MSN rewards support people. I had similar problem with purchases at Crutchfield. The reason for this problem is, we should have clicked on the link at MSN to go to the site and then made the purchase. For granted, I probably forgot to do that and didn't get the reward from MSN. They suggested I talk with the Crutchfield to the rewards. The guys at Crutchfield are so amazingly nice that they set up a link http://www.crutchfield.com/passport just for people like us to enter order number, then login to passport and boom we get reward e-mail in 2-4 days. In fact they allowed the rewards on orders placed after the deal was dead as my friend who dared buying from them was able to get the MSN reward for purchases made on 23rd at Crutchfield.

So, bug Ritzcamera and MSN until you get your rewards.

Well, I called Ritz last friday and they said I had done the passport purchase just fine but they were backed up in processing those orders. I just did a live chat with a MSN rep and she asked me to forward her my email order confirmation from ritz. So, I am hoping to get it taken care of.

Yeah, I wish I knew that, too. You didn't happen to write down who you spoke to, etc.? Was it Patti?

I might try calling back and seeing if you get a more sympathetic person on the phone. Or search the other "accepted" retailers and see if anyone else has it cheaper.

I tried all the others listed on their "low price guarantee qualified Internet Retailers" and found one that had it for $750, so $50 is better than nothing (but not quite as good as $96! <lol>)

Maybe I'll try calling back tomorrow. Wonder if their "must be done within 3 days of purchase" is working days or calendar... judging by the response so far, they might try to count Saturday and Sunday in that tally!

Do y'all think I'm better off calling or mailing the info for the Ritz price match against Dell?

(Edit: and would anyone who got the $100 or so from Ritz mind PM'ing me their order # so I can try to fight for it?)
