Nikon Coolpix 2500 $139.00 @ Target

Found a Nikon Coolpix 2500 2.0 Megapixel digital camera today at my local Target B&M. Original price was $279.00, marked down on clearance for $139.00! Not sure if all Target stores will have this, mine had two and I grabbed them both.
Also had the Sony DP51 2.0 Megapixel camera on clearance for $124.

Not bad for a nice 2.0 Megapixel camera. Sorry if this is a repost.

My local Target also had a clearance on the Sony P51 2.0 megapixel camera - $175.00. Not as good as what was listed above, but good enough.

I just wanted to mention the guy at Target asked if I wanted extra 10% off for signing up for a Target credit card. It was approved on the spot with an after-tax cost of $166.00. I went back a couple times and there's usually one or two things on clearance. Checked two other ones in the area but they had no digital cameras on clearance.

for u NJ ppl... edison, milltown, linden, union, clark, middletown, bridgewater, & edgewater do not have it. i called them and nope. i went to edison, milltown, clark, and linden... and can confirm they are not there. i picked up the last 2500 (for my sister) from milltown three days ago. paid $103 for the camera with everything except the box... so no rebate for me. still not a bad price tho. today i went hunting for one for my friend... spotted a display model in linden. no accessories... just the camera, battery, and cf card. somehow... the clerk rung it up $48. i asked her if she was sure, and she was like yup. so a happy camper i was. now i just gotta try to call nikon to see if they can send me a charger.

also... i picked up a minolta dimage s404 at the linden store for $98. i was expecting to pay about $140 after the 30% off for it being a display model, but she mysteriously knocked off another 30% to bring my total to $98. of course... this is definitely a big huge YMMV with both the discount and the camera selection. good luck and happy hunting

some ppl on FW said they found their in the endcaps. i found one of mine on the cash register counter, and the other was in a cardboard box (with other cleanrance cameras) on the floor behind the counter. basically, u just gotta look everywhere.

went to 3 targets today all told me that they were a closeout item because they had newer models in and would not be stocking that model any longer, also at one target the guy said it was crazy the day they disconted them people were buying alot of them, he even sold the demo for 40 bucks! haha crazy stuff, none the less South san diego all out, checked both chula vista stores, and el cajon store

Do you think calling would be good enough? I mean, do these people actually know what they are talking about?!? Somehow I think the only way to find out in any particular target has either of these cameras in stock is to go in person. That's rather unfortunate because that makes the deal a little risky, it would be a serious waste of time and probably gas unless you absolutely had to go to target. Hmmmmm, nevertheless I will probably go tomorow morning, sorry mom!

well i called up like 6 targets in NJ that were within like a 50 mile diameter and two stores had these cameras. the person i spoke with told me they were display models and came with nothing. i went down to one of the stores i called up and picked up the camera for $48. so to answer ur question, i think calling does make a difference.

picked up the sony p51 in an unopened box for $124 and the fujifilm 2600 for $95 in box but no memory and the Nikon 2500, camera only for $139. Now i have a question. Which of these is worth keeping for myself. I'm leaning towards the sony but the memory stick is holding me back

I'm still trying to find the Sony P51 or P71. I would like to get one of these, sold both of the Nikons. I have a external cdrw 2.0 case with 48X12X48 to trade plus cash or other stuff....
Let me know if you find a Sony and want to get rid of it. I need a smaller camera to haul around other than my Olympus C4000z.

target is like any other game -- one just can't come off the bench and score a double
get used to that store's schedule/style of markdowns and watch the percentage of deals increase
i don't think dude wasted his gas either -- it's all part of the hunt
calling makes a difference all right, just not a good one, got lucky

Canon S200 (open box) - $105. The clerk told me she bought an Olympus digital camera (don't know the model) for $12 earlier the same day... Also got a Sony DVD/VCR combo for $37 (also open box) - originally $250...

At Target in So. Portland, Maine today. I found one Nikon CoolPix 2500 for $140. It was the display, and they had the box with ALL the stuff in it (everything!). They gave me 25% off for the display unit = $105 + tax out the door! Now for the $50 Nikon rebate! Nice people, too.

Incidentally, there are 2 DPC (SKU) numbers for the CoolPix 2500. DPC 056 10 0750 is the discontinued one for $140. 1-800-440-0680 said the store I got one at had "none". The new stock (maybe Nikon View 6 software?) is DPC 056 10 0023, and is $249.99. I think the UPC is probably different also (discontinued = 0 18208 25502 3).

The one I got was on a display stand, in the glass case, with the NEW DPC, and $249.99 price. I asked them if they had the box, they said "yes", they scanned it and it came up at $140. Bargain. I only asked because last Thursday I saw the Nikon, asked how much (it was not on a stand - just lying there), one guy found the display box, and it scanned at $140. When I went to buy it today, I was surprised at $249.99! It took a while to figure out what was going on, but I DID have a successful mission, after I knew the correct questions to ask (scan the old box, not the new tag).
