Here is the tip for pricematch with staples.
You have to order first with them. Don't mention any pricematching until the CSR finishing your order and confirm that the item in stocks. They always lie to you about stocks when you mention pricematch first in your called.
Or tried to order it through website first to make sure they have in stock in your zip code area, but don't process the order just to make sure that they have in stock in your area. Then call staples for pricematch.
Sometimes you have to call 2 or 3 times until you got nice CSR. The Nikon Coolpix 800 look like in stock in 90005 area.

Don't be surprised if they diss you a pony for the shipping charge that digitalbuyer has. Still, not a bad deal. Coolpix 800 is kinda cheapo feeling though, made in Korea, not Japan.

seems like they only have the nikon 880 up on the Staples website now.

Anybody have the item number for the Nikon Coolpix 800? Maybe if I tell them that I can still get it.

I bought this camera for $425 after shipping and tax and rebate, so this is a good deal. I did a lot of research on cameras before I decided to buy this one. Nikon, Olympus, and Sony are usually the best in picture quality (as long as you go for the higher end ones), and this Nikon one is the cheapest of the good quality batch. This is a great deal. A good place to go for digicams is dpreview.com. They have tons of shots taken from all different digicams.

Also, there's a good deal for 48MB USB enabled Compact flash with a USB reader for like $37 after a $40 rebate. Check out gotapex.com or techbargains.com for the details. Also a deal for 16MB USB CF with reader for $8.99 for you cheapos out there.

Wish this thread was around when I bought the damn thing.

Hmmm, I just notcied, the coolpix 800 rebate is only good from 11/1/00 on...

Too bad I ordered on Halloween...was the rebate up at that time or did it just start the 1st and the old one was taken down?

All Nikon's except the 880 have disappeared from Staples' site.
When you search by "Nikon" it says 7 matches but shows only the 880. Think that Staples found out abt the deals and banned the cameras for some time.

Can you still order this camera even if it doesn't show up on the Staples.com site? Is it in the catalog? If so, then can't you just call in your order using the catalog, instead of placing it on the website?

The current 950/800 rebate form is for purchases from 11/1 on.

The earlier rebate form was for 950 purchases between April 1, 2000 and 12/31/00, and 800 purchases between July 1, 2000 and 12/31/00. (This earlier rebate offered $100 for the 950 -- not $150 -- and $75 for the 800.)

Ok, I just ordered it a little while ago using the item number and just calling all the info in. So I guess its in stock for Austin, TX.

It actually came out lower than that theoretical price though cuz my CSR said that thedigitalbuyer.com had it at $309 (did she hear them wrong?) plus $34 for shipping.

Tax being a bitch and minus the $40 off coupon comes out to $328 and change, all before the rebate!

... I think she screwed up though, hope they don't catch it. =)
