even if the PSP is $100, I'd rather get the DS.

Nintendo makes better games, the DS is much more novel and creative, and I can't even play my damn old PS1 games in the PSP.

on g4techtv's pulse the other week they said they thought the price was going to come out at $199, or $249 with accessories (memory stick, headphones). the article said that sony are scared of pricing the psp too high against the DS.

i love nintendo, i spent over $700 at the launch of the N64 to get everything i wanted, and it would be sweet to play Mario 64 on the DS, but i'm just not sure how the DS is gonna do from the games i've seen so far, and not sure how mario 64 would run without an analogue sick.

"Out of Stock. We're sorry, this item is currently unavailable. " I guess this means they quit taking pre-orders.

No way! The DS is basically a gameboy with an extra screen for maps and the like. It's completely pointless...The PSP will rock the DS.

"With 1/5 the battery life and 5 months late.

Stop with the BS... The psp has 8-10 hours for games just like the DS...

Considering after 3+ years the gba has 2 traditional good rpgs and not even one new mario platformer... I would never be excited for their next handheld..

8-10 hours in your dreams. With that LCD sucking power you'll be LUCKY to get 5 hours.

I can't see how 2 lcds are going to not be harsh on battery life. I suppose handhelds in general hold even less luster for me now then they used to, but i'm still interested in seeing how Sony's and Nintendo's match up.

I can confirm that the PSP will cost $350, that's right MSRP $350 at release. Possibly even more since it's from Sony. There is also no way that the PSP will have an 8-10 hour battery life. I don't even think the GBA has that, and that's without a backlight. It's no doubt that the PSP has a lot more features and looks better than the DS. But who in there right mind is going to get a hendheld that will have a crap battery life, have graphics that are only PS quality, and spend more on it than most NEXT-GEN consoles do. I mean the PSOne is pretty portable. You can buy that, get a few controllers, and get a bigger portable screen for it and still have it cost under $350. It's just absurd what Sony is trying to do.

I know that's what Sony originally announced, but you evidently haven't been keeping up. Sony will no longer confirm 2hr runtime while watching movies. Games will be better, but the better-looking games are going to spin the disc nearly as much as a movie does, bringing that battery life down to the 2hr or less mark.

What kills the battery life on the PSP isn't so much the LCD as it is the processors and the disc drive.

Ya'll are all wrong. The N-Gage QD will own all portable consoles! It's got the graphics of the DS and more wireless power than the PSP. AND IT'S A PHONE!

I just bought mine, and I love it! I was gonna buy a DS, but know all I need is my N-Gage and SSX: Out of Bounds.

Can you give a brief review of the N-gate?

You want my source for that $350 MSRP value, well here you go, http://www.geeknewz.com/commen...id=3&highlight=PSP . NOW DON'T CALL ME A BSer UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. I don't know if it actully will be retailed at that price but I can only tell you want I read about.

If you have any information to show otherwise then please let me know because this is the only price I've actually heard that has some basis behind it and wasn't just speculation.
