Circuitcity.com has the Nintendo DS Game System in stock now. This won't last too long. Reserve it online and pick it up in store before they run out of stock.

Yeah they had a limit of one per customer though I would guess they had about 30-40 at the eastgate BB
I bought a amp for my car instead

Are these really that popular? I've seen them in Best Buys, Circuit City and Costco in the weeks prior to X-mas. And not just a few, Costco & Best Buy had quite a stock of them. Now the new version PS2......that's another story!

I bet in 6 months, Nintendo will redesign the DS to be much smaller and re-release it so everyone who bought the original will spent money to buy another. It's a repeating theme with Nintendo.

Nope you are wrong cy7878.

they will paint in 5 different colors and release them all with the 5th color will be the Original Game Boy stripes

THEN they will release the new GBDS when PSX is finally out.

My bad. You're right. Don't forget the Pokemon Special editions....

First we have SNES remakes for GBA, then we have N64 remakes for DS. So when the next generation Nintendo handheld comes out, we'll get GC remakes?

Hmmm... I wonder how many DS owners have more than 1 game, excluding the playable demo that came w/ the system?

I was just looking at these when I went to BB and the guy hands me the warranty paper. His exact words
were " You should get the 2 yr warranty because the touch screens on these wear out and stop working after
about two months" way to bring in those sales moron why would you tell a customer that. If I was going to buy one and I am Joe customer I would place it back on the shelf after that bit of info LOL

I have looked at a few of the demos they have at EB games and the touch pads are all wore out. Grant it they
get used alot being a demo but I am curious to find out if this is something they have problems with.

My brothers intended to go half on a DS for me for Xmas, but couldn't find it, so they gave me $180 instead (assuming I might have to pay an aftermarket markup).

Luckily though, I actually was having second thoughts about getting in early anyway, and the touch screen durability was one of the reasons why (that, and I have a perfectly fine flash cart--read: unlimited downloadable ROM images--for my GBA SP)

the touch screen will be fine. Just don't get the Pelican brand screen protector. Get Fellowe's WriteRight Univeral and cut it to fit. It's better quality then Pelican for like $5 more.

Im severely disapointed at the slow release of any new games. For the record i have mario and feel the magic. FTM is a total waste of money, time and space. I enjoyed warioware but this is pure asinie sh1t.
An analog pad would have been much more effective on this than the stupid touch screen. So far all the games that use it feels like a gimmick. Ive put 3+ hrs on mario and an analog stcik would be much better than the touch screen. So far the only fun ive had on the touch screen are the mini games on mario. The whole point of the ds was the quality games from nintendo, but they have been sorely lacking. The only positive is that ive been playing all the old gba castlevania titles. They do look great on this screen. If golden eye doesnt get here soon im gonna be way pissed.

He was trying to sell you the their two-year warranty. Believe or not, game consoles (ie PS2, GC, DS, etc) make retail stores very little profit; while warranties do...
So even if you put that item back on the shelf, the company didn't lose much 'gross profit'.

I was too lazy to put an Afterburner on my son's GBA, and the GBA SP wasn't thrilling enough to get, so I planned on getting the Nintendo DS for my kid as a Christmas present. Pre-sales sold out of these fast everywhere, but I correctly guessed that when I headed out of the metro DC area for Florida for Christmas, I'd have no problem finding one in retirement-land. Nabbed one at Best Buy for $149 two days before Christmas.

Luckily I brought his Flash2Advance cartridge with several GBA ROMs along, since the DS games offered so far are prety lame and the demo can only do so much. He much prefers using the sylus instead of the thumbpad so far, and had a great time instantly networked with another kid at school playing the demo against each other. He's happy so far and probably will be still 6 months from now, even if only playing GBA ROMs on it.
