Where can I find old Nintendo game emulators? I would like to play Super Mario Brothers and Zelda on the PC.

Super Nintendo emulator or nintendo emulater?

And google can answer this for you. ROMs might require P2P, but the emulators themselve can be found online I think.

Every Video Game (no P2P)

The java emu. runs poorly on older machines, imo.

I have a question. Why does everyone get all up in arms when "normal" piracy is spoken of on forums, but ROMS and emu seem to be ok? The roms are ONLY legal if you own the original cart. I have a feeling that nintendo will start cracking down on this once the revolution comes out.

no one mentioned anything about ROMs. for all anyone knows, everyone in this thread owns the original cartridges of the games they play. i haven't seen anyone crossing the line, so to speak.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the roms and such, I just find it odd that piracy of pc games and software etc is demonized, but it seems ok to pirate the nintendo roms. For anyone that reads any of my posts you will find that I am a huge nintendo supporter and I purchase ridiculous amounts of their products but I use the roms myself.

Nintendo says even if you own the original cartridge it's illegal to possess the ROM.

The fact is that the emulator software is not illegal. The ROMs are, but he simply asked about the emulators.

Roms are illegal, but sometimes obtaining the original game can be very difficult, and not worth the trouble.

I don't think roms should be illegal. Comon, most of these games are 10-20 years old and cannot even be bought any more. Fact is, Nintendo isn't making money off old Nintendo games regardless

NO IT ISN'T. A significant court case has not been decided for or against having a rom of a game you own. It is a grey area until then.. so it's not illegal.

Just because Microsoft says you can't make a backup copy doesn't mean your legal right to a backup copy dissappears. They don't write the law and neither does Nintendo.

Havn't you noticed the resurgence in "classic" game sales? There have been classic game packs for every console including handhelds. Quite a few of them are also ported to Palm and Pocket PC. Every store that sells electronics is flooded with retro controllers with built-in games.

There is still a market for that stuff, so Nintendo, or anyone else, are not likely to release them into public domain any time soon.
