Hi, I've been using the hot deal forum for a while and on a few occasions I wanted to share valueble info, but the GC deal is forcing me to become a member, hehe anyway..
I was going to buy the GC Mario Sunshine bundle from buy.com, since I don't want to wait till Feb. to spend MSN dollars. I was a little worried about what the rebate stated so I email Nintendo like a few of you did about a couple things...

Subject: Gamecube rebates
Hi, if you don't mind I have a few questions I would appreciate if someone could answer for me, before possibly denying myself of the rebates.
1) GC $25 rebate says "Not valid with any other discounts or offers" does this include store discounts ie. $XX off $XXX order or -XX% off?
2) Is buy.com a participating, authorized Nintendo retailer?
3) Can I get another $5 off Mario Sunshine on top of the $25 off GC for doing the Mario Sunshine bundle?
Thanks for your time and clearing things up,
X

Hi there, X.
Good question. The wording for participating and authorized retailers is common for rebates and coupons. Our goal was to distinguish between established retailers, like Best Buy, buy.com, Walmart, etc., and non-established places like online auction sites or your neighbor. As long as you have a cash-register receipt with the required info, like store name, purchase date, item(s) purchased, purchase price(s), then you're fine.
As a side note, purchases must be for eligible products and can't be combined with other discounts (like 10% off purchases) or offers (free gift with purchase). Consult the rebate form for all the details and a list of eligible products. Should you need an extra rebate form, they're found in many Dec. 8 newspapers, at many retailers, and at
www.nintendo.com/coupon (just over 4MB).
In addition, Super Mario Sunshine is included with the bundle, so you can't combine rebates. In addition, to qualify for the software rebate, the purchase must be a separate item on the register receipt.
There you go, X; I hope that clarifies things. Thanks for your email and good luck with all your games!

Now either Nintendo is seriously not going to give everyone from here there rebates or he's just pulling everyones chain, hopefully the later. I sent him another email tonight regarding places that have offers, yet still advertise the Nintendo rebate on top of it and also on FOA Schwarz $119.99 sale price, tho shipping and tax sux from there. Seems it takes Nintendo a day to reply. I'll keep everyone posted.
On a side note, I picked up Metroid Prime from CompUSA tonight, driving me nuts not being able to play it, just as bad as when I had the Cendyne stuff sit till black friday, hehe... Well I think they are keeping all the copies in the back, because it was gone on the shelf and I asked if they would have it by the end of the week, so he says he'll go look and brings me out 1 copy, not more to stock the shelf. So if you're looking to get it you might have to ask for it, or if anyone won't PM it cause it's sold out, tell them that's BS that they are holding it in the back.
