Here's a question....I plan to get a few of the games to get the $5 off each, but...I don't want to destroy the appearance of the game box by cutting out the UPC bar code on the back of the game, just to get the $5 rebate --- seems like it isn't worth it. Anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks!

msn 20% thing

click there and theres a button that tells you about it.

from what i understand, if you buy with the msn checkout thing, in febuary they give you back 20% of the purchase price back to spend online.

Lemme see if I got all this correct:

The MSN Reward Points are only valid for a select few online stores, and the only ones who sell the GC are EBgames, CircuitCity, and KMart.

So, from those three, it would be best to go with EBgames since they won't charge you sales tax (only charged in 2 states), plus they offer free shipping. Is this right?

Also, will these 25 off rebate coupons be appearing in Sunday newspapers nationwide?

Gracias.

EBGames appears to be the best deal unless you want your Gamecube right away via Circuit City in store pickup. You also have to decide if the $30 MSN cash is more valuable to you than the free wavebird controller at Circuit City. You can pick up a Wavebird controller in for $25 when on sale, but $29.99 is the normal low price for a Wavebird and there is the $5 rebate on Wavebird as well. I don't really need a Wavebird controller so I will most likely order online.

That is the plan. You can print one off Nintendo's website or get your local Sunday paper (or equivalent). I would expect it to be with the coupons and store ads.

SubTotal - $269.96
- $53.99 MSN Cash
- $35.00 Rebates
- $20.00 EBGames Voucher

$160.97 for the Gamecube, 2 ($49.99) games, and a memory card.

Maybe use the $20.00 voucher with the MSN Cash in February to buy more games.

No good. EB require you to submit original UPC.

I've seen stores accept copies of receipts when there's overlapping rebates.. if there's a phone # on the voucher maybe someone could check.

Found the coupons in my Sunday paper. Also from my Sunday ads:

CompUSA:
Metroid Prime $39.99 - $5 Nintendo Rebate = $34.99

MediaPlay:
$20 MediaPlay Gift Card with Purchase of Gamecube system

Best Buy:
$20 Gift Card with purchase of Gamecube system and Metroid Prime or Star Wars Bounty Hunter (maybe combine with CompUSA pricematch on Metroid Prime) $149.99 + $39.99 - $50 = $139.98
$10 Gift Card with purchase of any of the 2 following games:
Madden 2003 ($39.99), Harry Potter, Super Mario Sunshine, Tony Hawk 4, Godzilla, 007:Nightfire (All games qualify for $5 Nintendo rebate) $99.98 - $10 Gift Card- $10 Rebate = $79.98

Circuit City:
Free wavebird controller with purchase of Gamecube system and one game $29.99 and up.

CircuitCity.com has the free Wavebird deal in the form of a Mail In Rebate. You have to buy the Gamecube, Game, and Wavebird on same order and can not use in store pickup (because of the game).

$149.99 Gamecube + $49.99 Game + $34.99 Wavebird = $234.97 + Tax = $251.42 for me.
- MSN Rewards = $50.28
- Nintendo Rebates = $35 (Gamecube, Game, Wavebird)
- CompUSA Rebate = $34.99 (Wavebird rebate)
= $131.15 After rebates and MSN Cash for Gamecube, Wavebird, and Game

Your final price will differ depending on tax rate.

Circuit City rebate accepts a copy of the UPC.

Note: I still haven't decided where I will be buying my Gamecube.

Less than $49.99 games that qualify for rebate:
$29.99 Games: Resident Evil
$39.99 Games: Sonic Mega Collection, Capcom vs SNK 2: EO, WWE Wrestlemania X8, Madden 2003,

Quick question, will the MSN rewards take off from the subtotal, or will you have to wait until February to know that the amount was taken off? Last night, the MSN rewards were subtracted from my total, but today, it isn't.

MSN Rewards is 20% of your order total that is credited to your MSN Wallet. You can not spend it until February.

Circuit City InStore Price Error!!!

I purchased the Platinum Gamecube for In Store pickup this morning. I went to the store and grabbed Metroid Prime and a Wavebird before going to the Customer Service counter. They were able to adjust my online order so I hope that MSN Cash will work as well.

The details of my transaction:

Promo Package - $0.00
Gamecube - $126.01
Metroid Prime - $26.01
Wavebird - $23.99

SubTotal - $176.01
Sales Tax - $12.32
Total - $ 188.33

The computer took off $59 from the order instead of $35.

$188.33 - $35 Nintendo Rebates = $153.33

The MSN Cash I will either be $32.09 or $37.66 depending on if they apply it to the original order or the modified total. Of course there is the chance that modifying the order means I get nothing.

I believe it was supposed to take $11 off the controller and $24 off the game, but it also took $24 off the console.

I think they're in the process of "fixing" the error. I just got back from CC and it was terrible.

Rang up:
$ 0.00 Promo Package
$170.99 GC Mario Bundle
$ 35.99 Rogue Leader
$ 21.59 Wavebird (note that is close to, but not exactly the discounts from above minus an extra $1.41)

but here's the kicker:
$ 25.40 Promotional GC (I used a 10% off GC coupon)

They tried to charge me for the 10% "free" gift card!!!

10% of $228.57 (pre tax) should be a free gift card for $22.86 (the system didn't even figure that out right). Simple concept, right? Not to the army of red button "Trainees" they had working this morning. Of course the manager got involved and I had to argue with that moron for 20 minutes. She thought it was that the Mario bundle wasn't part of the promotion and then that the 10% gift card coupon is supposed to be added to the total. Finally the moron rang up a regular GC console and it mangled the total even worse ($149.99 + 39.99 + 23.99). So in the end I got:

$ 0.00 Promo Package
$189.99 GC Mario Bundle
$ 39.99 Rogue Leader
$ 0.01 Wavebird
plus a $25 CC gift card

... and she acts like she's doing me some kind of big favor. :|

My MSN rewards are full, so I decided to use the 10% gift card coupon. I wish I had just ordered that combo for delivery and just ignored the 10% coupon. This frustration isn't even worth $25. :frown:

edit, oh yeah, total: $249 (incl tax) - $25 GC rebate - $5 Wavebird rebate - $25 CC GC - $30 (selling Wavebird to a friend) = $164 net for the console, memory card and 2 games (Mario Sunshine and Rogue Leader). I hope I find Rogue Leader on sale so I can get a few more $$$ back.

edit again: grrrr the clear seal on one side as opened and the memory card is missing. Time to go back. :frown:
