Buy.com is getting raped on game consoles and this $15.00 off, with the price cuts on the PS2 and XboX, and now the game cube, I bet they are going to wish they restricted game hardware from that coupon (like BestBuy did with their 10% off weekend)

I got an XboX for $184.99 earlier today, already have a gamecube and PS2

What's the cheapest thing you can find on buy.com.... I found some batteries for like $11.00 but I know there has to be something more around like $1.00 range to push this thing over 149.95??? Anyone???

Update #1: I found some Sony Premium Grade DVM-60 PR 60 Minute MiniDV Video Tape for $4.99... Anyone better?
Update #2: Ok.. I think I may have found something better... CMC Mini Write Once CD-R -- 0.65 Anyone Better still?

Sorry, but none of those game consoles can ever match the power of the GeForce 4 Ti 4600. And plus, game consoles aren't upgradable.

Right but a lot of games are made strictly for consoles. You could miss out on a lot of great games

One BIG reason that I might get in on this deal is because of Final Fantasy X for GC... I love SquareSoft games...

I will never understand why some people think it has to be one or the other I have a Visiontek ti4600, and a gamecube and a PS2 and an XboX, they all do what they are supposed to very well, I use them all and enjoy them all.

Why do we have to get GameCube, or even XBOX or PS2? This $15 off is good for any purchase over $150. You can literally come up with hundreds, if not thousands, of hot deal like this one.

First time I've heard about this. As far as I know there has only been developement for the GBA.

Nice deal btw. I'm very tempted to get this even though I can borrow a Gamecube from a friend.

I know! The 128MB that doesn't get used by todays games, the 8xAGP that isn't supported by most motherboards, the HUMONGOUS price tag? Oh, and the 32bit processor? Wait, remind me? Why are computers superior for gaming? New consoles are getting the ability to expand multiplayer, and oh... wait... they are upgradable (if even only a little)...

So back to the original point of this thread:

Has ANYONE actually been able to get the GameCube for $135 shipped? I think it was a pretty big assumption that Buy.com was going to have some item for 5 cents.

Slacker, it took a while to remember, but when I was young, I couldn't afford owning two or three game systems, which is probably why people always take sides in the console wars. For me this time around, I decided to pick up a PS2, but I may very well get a Game Cube at this price I am pretty sure half of the good x-box games will come out on PC, the other half on PS2/CG. I treasure gameplay over graphics, so it doesn't bother me a bit if the game is technically a bit inferior on the "other" systems, as long as solid control is implemented (sprite/polygon detection, reaction time, learning curve, strategy)...

though it'll add more cost but you could always pick up a memory card since you'll probably need one later.
