My favorite (non-common) NES games:

Rygar
Ikari Warriors (How the hell can you beat this 50 hour game without the ABBA cheat)
Mighty Bomber Man
Jackal
Golgo 13
Goonies 2

I've still got my Nintendo too! Remeber sitting there blowing on the bottom of the cartridge to get the game working? And remeber the "gaming" calus you'd get on your thumb from the unergonimc controller.

How about Castlevania 2, probably one of my most favorite games of all time.
Dragon warrior 1 and 2 kicked total ass. I remeber getting Dragon Warrior free with my subscription of Nintendo Power.
My pop also bought me this game Silent Service. Perhaps THE best submarine game EVER.

<< Ikari Warriors (How the hell can you beat this 50 hour game without the ABBA cheat) >>

How about the ending? I remember playing till the end with my brother and we got a to room with no exit... no official game ending.. you just stand around and the music kept playing. I was so pissed. I asked a friend who also played through it and he said he reached the same point. What a waste of time!

Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. 007 373 5963 I will remember that code till the day I die

I can still beat Tyson every time I play him. Once you get past the first 1:30, you got him.

Dang the memories! I worked my butt off in grade school so I could get the NES over the summer break. Never had so much fun!

Zelda-The gold cartridge.. Man The dungeon bosses used to make me tremble in fear, that music didn't help!

Contra-Me and my brother spent hours trying to bear this hehe

Ikari warrior-Kill kill kill ! That 3/4 overheard took some getting used to but it kicked!

Metroid-Man my first all night game, Couldn't get enough of it!

Master blaster, That truck was so cool hehe

California games, my first sport game. I loved the rollerskating and surfing parts lol..

Yep, that was as far as I got too. Eventually I died and didn't use the continue code quick enough so it was Game Over. A friend of mine told me that some ladder would appear if you killed everyone within a certain time or something. You gotta love old NES rumors...

"uhh.. yea just hit the guy 10 times, then press start, push the cartridge down and up halfway, then A-B-down-up-select-start, then you'll turn blue and enter a secret warp" LOL ok. But hey, after the SMB -1 secret level, you'll believe anything.

RAMPAGE! A friend and I played the game for 11 hours straight (i was the ape) and beat it...and I remember us being so damn pissed off when we won because suddenly the screen goes black and tiny letters pop up saying nothing but "congratulations"...argh!!!

You're kidding me after spending 11 hours getting gamers thumb and beating the game you're rewarded with "congratulations" that's it?

Remember the ending of Super Mario Brothers 2? That was pretty frickin' awesome.

#1 Nintendo memory of all time:

Finally beating Zelda II. I both loved and hated that game, in the end, looking back, it was my favorite of the Zelda series, and one of my all time favorite games.

Finally beating Wart in SM 2 was a big feat by me as well. hehe I got that game in like 1989 or so, and I played it for friggen a thousand hours and I finally beat Wart last year on an emulator.

Final Fantasy I getting the class change, I remember how cool that was, but I was mad that my black wizard lost his cool hat.

Final Fantasy I getting the air stone, and finally busting loose the air ship. That ruled.

Dragon Warrior beating it with my old friend, we have long since drifted apart.

Beating Faxanadu, a game that I really liked allthough I HATED the 50 letter passwords. I used to have a notebook of baout 80 pages just filled with passwords.

Losing in RBI baseball to my cousin about 400 times in a row because of his dirty curve ball.

beating some other cousins in Double Dribble, them not noing the advantage I had with the NES Max controller and its turbo button.
---------

SNES
The coolness of that console when it first came out was unreal, Super Mario World and Zelda 3 were just so cool!!!! Pilotwings was neat too.

Final Fantasy 2 and 3, awesome.

Final Fantasy 2, changing Cecil's name to "Sh*t" and then when you talk to the gaurds at that one castle who are supposed to say "Ohh Cecil" they said "Ohh Sh*t"

Losing 400 bucks on a street fighter 2 bet, only to win it all back, when I pulled off and awesome combo move with Zangeif. No one beats Zangeif.

My earliest Nintendo memory was how my dad beat Zelda before I could. He played it NON STOP. He beat the second map before me, too.

I never had an NES as a kid, so I begged and pleaded and Xanathar bought me one for Valentine's Day this year (how geekily romantic ) including of course, the light gun! Games so far: SMB1 (and after all these years, i STILL suck at it...disadvantages of being a girlie and never being encouraged to game, I guess), DUCK HUNT! (doesn't work off a tvcard, for future reference), Dr. Mario (the lamest of the lame, but addicting ), and Super OffRoad...

I'm gonna take this thread down to FunCoLand....
