Still on the fence myself. The Gyro based controller just seems to much like a gimmick to me and reminds me so much of the ill-fated power glove.

Why?

Well the main advantage of the controller looks like aiming imo, but what kind of games do we have trouble aiming in on a console with a standard controller? 3d Shooters imo. This will help a little but hinder alot, I have not touched this but I can almost gurantee that circle strafeing will be impoosible, at least being able to aim while circle strafeing. Also I dont think I would personally like the moving around so much, especially when playing with friends. For one me and my friends would get really tickled at each other, and that would make playing be kind of tough. That and when watching the truck playing game the truck was constantly bouncing back and fourth like they had to constantly keep going one way or the other to steer. I would hate to race a game like NFS or MotoGP on this. At least from what I have seen I just dont think it is precise enough. Maybe be but sure does not look it from some of the videos.

But this is all speculation, it may be pretty neat but like I say will have to actually feel it in motion to see.

I like the controller idea, even if it doesn't catch on, at least they're trying something. And if you don't like it, they have a regular conttroller.

Have they announced a price yet? That's the key for them, it has to be a good deal cheaper than the other two.

Exactly. I don't know what this talk is about a R300-class GPU, I thought it was R500-class. Probably not running as fast as the Xbox 360, since it has to fit in a small box and be really cheap. Personally I'm far more excited about a small, unique, $200 piece of hardware that can play the huge catalog of games that I missed than I am about either of the other two next-gen consoles. I probably will pick up a PS3 eventually, but only for Gran Turismo, FF, or some other killer exclusive deal.

Oh and I love Miyamoto games. Cartooniness FTW !!!!!!!! I see enough blood and guts in real life.

j/k about the blood and guts.

The Dailytech article appears to be wrong, since the devkits are using higher clocked flippers (probably roughly on par with a radeon 8500) and the games don't even look like something an R300 class graphics chip could do, especially at 480p res. They all look like gamecube+ games, slightly better animations, slightly more particles, bigger environments, and more characters on screen at once, but nothing significantly improved, not even any real use of bump mapping.

Since the Wii didnt have a game to compare to the games that xbox 360 and PS3 we will have to wait and see and stop acting like miss cleo.

I think it's pretty telling when the zelda game not only fit in with the Wii games graphically, but it looked better than many of them, despite being a gamecube game.
Not to mention that Rebel Strike still looks better than any Wii game shown.

To me... I exited the console market a while ago. 2001 to be exact. Yes I have had a PS2 and I still have my GC but I play consoles only at my buddies house on special occasions when they turn the efficiency apartment on their house into a game room with 8 or so consoles from 8 bit to dreamcast. PS2 stays in the house ( I have him my PS2 ) and his gamecube is brought into the game room for 4 player games.

I just don't see the reason for next gen. PS2, Xbox, GC are still next gen. Sure the new stuff looks like computer graphics but the games are getting crappier and crappier. It is more hollywood oriented, you grab a opening day ticket to the movies you watch it then you go home. Console gaming is getting to be like that. Nintendo is trying to stop that trend even if it ends up costing them all their market share. I will buy Wii on that bit of info alone. They are the only game company left... the others are merely amatures.

That and I'd love to play Mario Kart on it

I'll be watching Wii simply to see how the contoller turns out, I don't know how many times I've been playing a game like oblivion and wanted to be able to swing my sword not just click the mouse.

I'm getting a Wee just so I can legitimately ::ninja:: play Mega Man 2 and 3 on my TV.
