I would spend 10k on a nice used car and set aside the extra 5 for gas before buying a fit or yaris or corolla or any other small cheap ass car.

For 10-15 grand you can get a really nice car.

Dude this is ATOT ... exactly what did you expect?!?

Seriously though, congrats on the new car!

I agree. Fvck the naysayers. Enjoy that Yaris.

i personally wouldn't get a Yaris, but i like anyone who buys a car over an SUV. SUVs are a drain on resources and a waste of space on the road. i bet like 95% of people don't need SUVs.

Your dad seems to really enjoy it. And by the way it has 14" wheels which is standard on a lot of cars.

For 15k I'd rather have a 2 year old Accord ro Camry. New cars FTL. Hell for 16 you can get an RSX.

Right because I want to pay $3/gal for premium and NOT average 36mpg mixed driving.

You don't need premium. Regular is what, 2.20ish right now? The I4 Accord gets 34mpg highway and is a much more substantial car.

New RSXs do start at 20. I meant 2 year old examples, which can be had for 16k. Notice where I put 2 years old, and new cars FTL.

Prove it. I seriously don't recall any newer 2004+ Hondas that don't run 93 octance. Even the RSX, which is a I4 REQUIRES 93 octane.

I don't care that 93 octane is 2.20 in podunk Iowa or Missouri, I live in a major metro area and premium is still 2.99/gal.

02 civic and accord manuals say you can use 86 octane.

It's a personal preference. At 15,000 miles a year, a yaris getting 34 mixed will have a gas bill of $1160 AT 2.63 for regular which is the currrent price in Naperville. The Accord getting 30 mixed comes to $1315, a difference of $155. I guess I would be ok with $155 more, other may not be and they are of course free to choose. I only ever stated what I would do. Never said you should too.

I can't stand all these haters. There is someone who will hate on any car that someone buys for one reason or another. There is just no point.

Dude, chill. Why do you care so much? It's going to be your car so long as you're happy, that should be the only thing that matter.

I think that Yaris is a POS and wouldn't buy it at that price but that's my opinion. I'm not going to be the unfortunate one driving that car.

Than move along. Do you go through the mall parking lot and explain to everyone why you wouldn't drive their car and why it was a bad idea to even buy and how your car is better?

I didn't make this thread so people could tell me why my choice was so bad. Because you can say, hey relax I am just saying what I would do, but your really not. Your bashing my car.

They are just trying to say you overpaid for an econbox. If mpg is a conern, a used civic would save you couple thousand and that couple thousand can get you years of gas.

I like how you call Iowa and Missouri podunk signifying their unimportance and you buy a Yaris which signifies the same in yourself......
