1. Fluctuations happen. $1.50 isn't that much. AMD is at a 52 week low.

2. NF2/3 do work in Vista. I'm not sure what features are missing; I know people are saying that the driver performace may be poor as well.

3. Crappier compared to whom? We have yet to see R600 with a working Vista driver...

Gosh almighty, yes the Green Goblin is doomed

Take 3 aspirin with a big tall glass of water before you hit the sack, usually takes the edge off for me.

4. Crappy new Control Panel

1. Nothing unusual if it fluctuates, shame AMD (ATi) stock is sliding fast.
2. Considering I just booted an old NF2 motherboard into Vista I can't see any problems as of yet.
3. Crappier than ATi's R600 support... oh wait R600 isn't even out yet.
4. They are working on a new Control Panel & ATi only just got theirs fixed (ish).

CrystalBay obviously owns Intel stock cos if he owned AMD stock he'd be tearing his hair out, not jumping for joy & making a fool of himself in public.

They're up against a card 5% faster and 100% more power hungry that's likely to be outperformed by a driver tweak, and certainly more expensive. Yea, they must be trembling in fear.

and that soon-to-be-released <$300 GTS w/ 320 Mb will be the final nail on Nv's coffin.

The OP however wrong he was, didnt bring up R600. In response nano brought out his insecurity (R600).

edit: keys, so you agree with nano that R600 is 5% faster and has twice the power reqs?

Actually when I said 5% I was being gratuitous, real world benchmarks are likely to swing back and forth between one card and the other so it won't be clear exactly which is faster.

So let's just leave it at more expensive and much more power hungry, historically following other ATI offerings since the x800s. I'll spare myself from getting into the whole software aspect of ATI. It's unfortunate because the 9000 series were great cards, but the only reason for that might have been that nVidia ****** up that generation.

Where did you get the 5% from? Right from you @ss! We know nothing about the performance yet. If anything, the leaked specs point to a MUCH faster card. However your wishful thinking has stopped your brain from processing that info. We dont have a price either, among the many things wrong in your post.

This is the classic scenario where Fool#1 jumps out and says "ABC ROCKS" upon which Fool#2 gets upset and shouts "MY PANTS ARE WET". Neither proved or refuted anything yet made a fool of themselves.

Couldn't they have been great cards because they did what the buyers wanted them to do? Why does another company need to fail in order for one to be great? If you ask me, that isn't greatness, just lack of options. I think the 9000 series was good because it did what people wanted it to do.

I remember reading something on the Inquirer about ATI's board partners commenting that they were really happy with the card's performance and it has a (upto) 10% performance advantage over G80? I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere (then again it's the INQ).

So NanoStuff wasn't that far off.

Nope very easy to guess, if not specific. 5% in one game at one resolution could translate to 50% in another game at a much higher resolution. Those general numbers are meaningless until we see actual game benchmarks at resolutions that fit our individual monitors.

Who gives a shat. I don't play tech stocks anymore, too volatile for my liking. I can't think of any other reason to care, since as long as there is a demand for whatever product or service, some company will fulfill that demand, I don't care which either.
