Just as KT thinks my musical taste is fogey baloney, I just don't "get" Sinatra's fame and preeminence. When asked, the most musical thing people say is his "phrasing." Can some actual musician enlighten me about this?
IIRC, he managed to master circular breathing which, I guess for a singer, is pretty fucking difficult? He could stretch phrases out longer than most and because his tone and control was so perfect, he had this nice fade and reverb--natural, you know: no autotune! that few could match.
He was also a pretty awesome dude when it comes to working with and promoting black musicians and trying to embrace more popular music as he got older (Well, sorta....that last bit was more an attempt to cling to the last fading shreds of relevance).
David Allen Coe ?
Bit of a joke but I like him actually.
Gotta outlaw that there Geetar.
lol, man...David Allen Coe. yeah...don't play that guy in polite company. Great when drinking and stoned off your gourd, but uh, as long as no one overly sensitive is around.
