Trying to figure this out.
Hardware is a MeegoPad T02 Ubuntu Edition.
Mint 17.2 64-bit MATE installed, after copying bootia32.efi to /EFI/BOOT , then running a shell script to install 32-bit GRUB2 after installation.
Things I've tried:
Upgrading the Kernel, from 3.16.0-38, to 3.16.7-031607-generic
Deleting / resetting my PulseAudio configuration, and logging out and back in.
Edit: output of "sudo lspci"
Edit: I got my info on how to install Mint 64-bit onto the Compute Stick here:
https://plus.google.com/+IanMORRISON/posts/UNWdwRMqy3j
I ran the two scripts that he provides, one for z3735f, and one for dsdt (whatever that is), rebooting in-between.
I now have an audio device labeled "IntelHDMI" in the PulseAudio control panel in MATE, but it only shows "Analog Stereo" and "Off". And when I start up a streaming radio station in Firefox, I can hear really short bursts of audio, if I also scroll or view pages. Like, some audio is slipping through the HDMI port, when I do some sort of graphics operation.
When I click on "Test Speakers", I can get a brief crackle, and that's it.
Now when I do an "aplay -l", I get this:
Edit: Added this PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-audio-dev/+archive/ubuntu/pulse-testing
and did "sudo apt-get install pulseaudio", then rebooted.
Then I didn't have a speaker icon to control my audio anymore. When the update icon came up, it said I had a level3 update for "Pulse Audio", so I installed it, rebooted, and got my icon back. Still no continuous sound.
Edit: Now I'm having issues with Linux Mint rebooting while on Skype. The weird thing is, it's an orderly shutdown and restart, not a forced power-off. So I don't know if it's overtemp, or something with the power button or associated circuitry.
When I booted Linux Mint, not on Skype, and then selected Shut Down, it shuts down, then it powers on again. So I forced a shutdown by holding down the power button for 4 seconds, and it shut off... then it powered back on again! So it seems like hardware problems with this unit, maybe?
