I mean really ruins the game for me.

thats where you need the camo tonic. that thing rocks!

How are you guys going about spending your ADAM? Do you specialize in 1 or 2 things or do you spread out?

I spread out. I have all the plasmid sockets open, 3 Physical, 3 Engineering, and 3 Combat sockets. Most of the combat tonics suck though. There's so many wrench enhancing abilities and I rarely use it. The only thing I've used it for since I first got it is smashing windows in Fort Frolic.

There's so many abilities and tonics that I want to buy but can't.

pretty damn good game, my GF has a Sempron 3300+ 2 gigs and a 512meg 1950 Pro. A pretty crummy CPU but with the video card I have everything maxed out and it seems to be running perfect. Are there no in game AA options? I set everything max including resolution and it's flying. I thought this game would crawl seeing how her processor is kind of old, but I'm impressed.

I finished the game once already, having saved all the little sisters. The ending was kind of short but somewhat fulfilling. It would have been nice if the game was scarier and had more shock value, but it is still a good game. I'd give it a B or B+.

As far as playing the game goes, Natural Camo, Electrobolt, and Electric Flesh are the most useful plasmids/tonics imo. It gets so easy to kill Big Daddies later on with electrobolt 3 and exploding buck. I read that there is a tonic that increases fire damage too, which would be nice for that strategy, but I don't remember ever seeing it. I know it called Human Inferno so maybe I'll find it this time. I really wish that some of the plasmids weren't completely useless like Security Bullseye (easier to just hack stuff). Hypnotize Big Daddy would seem like it useful, but most enemies aren't hard enough to kill to need one protecting you. It is fun to make Big Daddies fight each other though; wish I could find a Rosie and Bouncer in the same area.

I finished my 1st playthrough without spending a drop of it, just used what I found. My usual set was: Electro Bolt, Tele, Sport Boost 2, Natural Camo, Speedy Hacker, Hacking Expert 2, Wrench Lurker and Wrench Jockey 2.

Towards the end I was swapping in a couple Electric Flesh tonics to waste the Elite Rosies with Electric Gel.

Also towards the end I rarely ran out of ammo since I just wasn't using much. It was more economical to ambush/bum rush the splicers with the wrench, or just toss stuff at them. There was so much cash lying around, I just spent it on healing or the occasional Eve hypo and still couldn't spend it all. This was largely in part due to the respawns. They'd constantly blunder into my hacked security, or I'd just brain them with the wrench from behind or stick an xbow bolt through their skull. In the last few areas of the game, the splicers drop a good amount of stuff. In Apollo Square I was practically tripping over half looted lockboxes.

This was on Hard with no vita chamber use - I thought the handicaps would have made for more of a challenge than they did, but it was still fun. I'll play through again, but I'll do more with the plasmids next time.

And have a look at the "other" ending.

You "beat" the game eh? "Beat" the game? Where did this dumb ass vernacular originate?

um...at the conception of video games?
did you just hear about video games yesterday?

Umm, yea just last week.

Gaming is entertainment. Do you also beat a novel, or beat a movie? I tend to finish them, just like i finish games.

Reading a novel or watching a movie doesn't require skill for most people; it's not very challenging. Get my drift? Not sure how you screwed that one up so bad...

Indeed you can beat a game because it poses a challenge for you to... *drum rolls* BEAT. So yeah, like jjzelinksi said, I don't know how you screwed that one up so bad...

So, right now I'm in Neptune's Bounty and I met my first gun-equipped Daddy. A bit harder to kill than the drill ones. Electrobolt doesn't seem to hurt him, just stun him a bit. Telekinesis is handy for throwing his grenades back, but my weapoons don't seem very effective. I also hacked a turret, but it's not doing much at long distance. So far I have the Telekinesis, Electrobolt, Enrage, and Incinerate plasmids. What are they most susceptible to (haven't tried Incinerate on them yet)?

I whacked 2 of the Rosies in Neptune's using the RPG turret on the upper level. Grab a bomb from the turret with TK, fling it at the Rosie while it's escorting a sister down below. Cheap but effective

Electrobolt, shotgun blast x2, electrobolt, shotgun blast x2, electrobolt, reload, repeat.
