Have you guys seen this one yet?
There's been a lot of hype around this game lately, and I can understand why. The developers claim to have built an engine that can render an entire universe (literally millions of planets) seamlessly, and that everything that can be seen can be visited. The entire game is procedurally-generated, and every environment is rendered exactly the same for each player based upon their location in the universe.
I do hesitate when I hear the words "Procedurally Generated" again, since being burned by Spore. But the game certainly LOOKS impressive in its early state.
Gameplay centers around exploring the universe, visiting planets, collecting resources, building your ship, and trading/fighting with other players. It's sortof like Minecraft, on a universal scale. At the center of the universe is the "end game", a black hole of which the developers have not talked much about yet.
One of the most interesting features to me is that every new discovery, be it a planet or an animal or a galaxy, will forever be tagged as "Discovered by <Player>" to all future players that come upon it.
Another aspect is that of the sheer size of the universe. I heard some reviewers describe the game as similar to Dark Souls, in that you may never be able to play with your friends, given that you could never reach them in a timely manner.
So what do you guys think? I think this is definitely a game to keep on the radar.
