The 2100c is a good deal even without the rebate. From what I know, it's just like the 3300c, except smaller and with no scanning buttons on the machine itself. But it still has 600x1200 resolution and 36bit color.

I can never trust those people working at Office Max. They tell me it's in stock after I give them the SKU# and when I get there, they say "Oh sorry, I thought it was available" or they found something similar instead totally ignoring the SKU#. I've lost faith in computer store workers because I THOUGHT they at least knew how to differentiate numbers.

Ok I work at officemax and in our defence the mainframe right now is realy torked has been for almost a year (doing system upgrades) while there has been major inprovment in some areas of are system many stores counts have gotten off sometimes in a major way. When calling an officemax with a sku also tell them what it is and ask for a phyical check.

AWWWWWW DANG IT :disgust: I just bought the 932C from staples with a $40 coupon and got it for $160 about two weeks ago. Man, This Sucks! I could get it for $120 now with a coupon.


I work at officemax and i know what Glich is talking about. For the past 9-11 months, out system has had terrible onhand counts and it is not giving us information that it use to (ie, how many we have sold, former price, what it retails for, how many have been sold in the past 4 weeks and when the last one was sold). Stock search has been acting up on us also. It rarely works and is mostly Shutdown by corporate. The best feature on the system now is that you can check any district in the US that you want to.

You should also always have the Omax employees check the physical onhand, i always do. If the person on the phone tells me not to or hangs up while i am checking, it's not my fault that we don't have it in stock when they come to get it.

Just in case anyone is interested, I just got the Olympus D-460Z digital camera and pricematched it with www.discoverycameras.com. It's $267 on the site, but you have to add $30 for the overnight delivery. I filled out the pricematch form on Officemax's website and a CSR mailed me back saying that I would have to buy the camera first and then they would credit the difference to my account. Lucky for me I bought the camera while OM had the $50 off $250 for new customers (deal just passed yesterday I think). Still, $297 is a good price for a great camera.

I just picked up the Hewlett Packard 920 Inkjet Fax Machine at OM for my in-laws. In the store it said 250 -$50 PR = $200. I thought PR was a MIR but it came up as $200. Nice printer and the fax is easy to use (my mother-in-law doesn't know how to use a mouse and she can fax with no problem). Damn thing required a cable though ($25):disgust:

Do you mean the OfficeJet 720? I believe the HP Fax 920 does faxing only (i.e. no computer interfacing to do scanning and/or printing). Am I mistaken here?

In any event, that is pretty cool that it worked out well for your mom-in-law. Most of the HP All-In-Ones dropped in price last week (T45, K60, and K80, and the OJ 720).

I am hoping the K60 will go on sale (doubtful) soon so I can use a discount and get it for less than $150 net. Otherwise, I will settle for the 932C printer.

No way would we blame you personally for a Computer problem at Office Max HQ, but it's pretty sad when a major Corporation doing extensive business on the Internet can't get it's act straightened out for nearly a year.
