I just ordered my Q6600 from
FuturePowerPC I have ordered from them before and have been happy with them for the most part. The price came to 313 shipped with 2 day shipping. No Tax for me here in Cali.
I called there twice and asked if they had SLACR's the guy said it was all they had in Stock and they had "about 20 pieces" I decided to take the plunge and go for it. Their webpage states they have B3 stepping versions and I asked him about it and he said it just isn't updated.
I was not really confident with the guys answer even though I talked to him twice. I should get it Friday and I'll confirm whether or not its G0.
I just called those guys, first asked if they had any Q6600 in stock, he said "yes we have tons of them, we have 40 of them". Then i asked if he knew the stepping, he said no, Then I asked if he had any way of finding out, he said no, because they get them from different distributors all the time. Then he asked me why people wanted to know the stepping, I told him about overclockers and enthusiasts wanting them, because even if they don't overclock they might want steppings that are known to run cooler or use less voltage. He asked how to identify the stepping. I told him by the sSpec # (that's the property they list the "SLACR" under on their website). I knew the sSpec # but told him I didn't know... it seemed kind of fishy that they told you they had 20, and then told me they had 40.
