I ordered my GO from ClubIT late Friday night after seeing this thread. Spent the whole weekend and most of Monday "Peding for Shipment". Then, Monday night when I was checking order status, it read "Completed" and gave a tracking number. I am in Arizona and my GO is on the truck out for delivery! I also received an email on Tuesday with this info from ClubIT. I have ordered from them before once or twice. They have always treated my orders responsibly. I will keep them in my Favorites folder for future orders.

Great post, thanks again!

A little birdie told me that Tnakguys will have them in stock to ship tomorrow. 08/07/07

Yeah I called them about my order it they said it would ship today or tomorrow but most likely tomorrow, I ordered it last Sunday. He said there were a ton of orders in front of mine which was the reason for the delay.

I just ordered my Q6600 from FuturePowerPC I have ordered from them before and have been happy with them for the most part. The price came to 313 shipped with 2 day shipping. No Tax for me here in Cali.

I called there twice and asked if they had SLACR's the guy said it was all they had in Stock and they had "about 20 pieces" I decided to take the plunge and go for it. Their webpage states they have B3 stepping versions and I asked him about it and he said it just isn't updated.

I was not really confident with the guys answer even though I talked to him twice. I should get it Friday and I'll confirm whether or not its G0.

I just called those guys, first asked if they had any Q6600 in stock, he said "yes we have tons of them, we have 40 of them". Then i asked if he knew the stepping, he said no, Then I asked if he had any way of finding out, he said no, because they get them from different distributors all the time. Then he asked me why people wanted to know the stepping, I told him about overclockers and enthusiasts wanting them, because even if they don't overclock they might want steppings that are known to run cooler or use less voltage. He asked how to identify the stepping. I told him by the sSpec # (that's the property they list the "SLACR" under on their website). I knew the sSpec # but told him I didn't know... it seemed kind of fishy that they told you they had 20, and then told me they had 40.

Indeed it is. To be honest, I'm not holding my breath on this.

My g0 arrives tomorrow since I just kept the ground shipping rather than going for 2-3 day air. Now I'm considering if I should lap my Ultra-120 (not extreme version).

Yeah the base on my heatsink isn't perfectly flat. I might just lap it tomorrow with 400 grit till its flat. I don't care to make it all shiny. Never lapped anything before but it can't be difficult.

This made me giggle like a little schoolgirl... Considering I'm only looking to initially OC to about 3.0-3.2 (most likely 8x400), I should be able to get some mid to high 50's. What voltage are you feeding your CPU for 3.6?

I'm considering doing the same w/ my Tuniq that just came yesterday... although I haven't taken it out of the packaging to see if it needs it. I was planning to, assuming it's shiny, just see if the reflection of something against the base is distorted. Is there a better way to determine the necessity for lapping? (I'll probably do it anyway just because it can't hurt to have a larger surface area...)

1.43v

I could do over 3.8, but i dont want to push too many volts

Yeah, I checked today and my order finally got shipped out. The tracking number says an estimated delivery date of August 14th so next tuesday I should get it.

I have a Thermaltake Typhoon VX (A decent aftermarket cooler) so I'm hoping to OC to 3GHz on this GO Q6600. I'll have to report back next week or so and see how it goes, right now I'm on a AMD Athlon XP Mobile 2.2GHZ with a DFI Socket A motherboard and a Radeon 9700pro along with 768Mb of DDR memory...lol....my new setup will be like night and day.

FuturePowerPC did not come through, got a B3 : ( I've been waiting years to upgrade and the temptation to keep it is overwhelming. If today was Monday it would be easier, but since its Friday, I'd have to wait the whole weekend with it sitting here.

My computer is completely built other than plopping the CPU in. It would be agony. I want to them back and bitch up a storm that they told me they had SLACR's and that if I ordered one I would get it. But I can't until Monday and the whole having to wait thing may be too hard.

I never really wanted to OC passed 3ghz, I just wanted to get better than Q6700 performance and save money. But I think I can probably get 2.8 - 3ghz with my Thermal Ultra-120 Extreme.

BLEH is all I can really say.

With that setup, you should get 3.0-3.2 easy out of a B3. Check the Q6600 OC thread. I don't thik anybody is under 3.0 even with B3's

You mean buy a third ??? I want to find a X3210 G0 and play with that ! or an X3220 G0 and play with it. No guaranteed places for that.

If you know, let me know, I can dump a 6300 easy. I should probably sell some of these. 4 systems sitting, waiting to be sold...A dual 248 Opteron, a A64 3200 single, an E4300@stock, an Opteron 170.....

Is there even any reason to buy an E6750 over a Q6600 GO? Regardless of price considering the difference isn't big at all.
