but topgear is much funnier. and they have crazy tests like putting a nun in a moster truck and zapping a golf with electricity and jumping a double decker over bikes and buy a car for under 100 quid and buying a porsche using 1500 quid and etc etc

yeah yeah, I know Top Gear is better (much better) than 5th in terms of creativity (and... everything else usually). but sometimes their bias is just a straight turn off. Remember how they bash the Aussie Holden GTO / Vauxhall Monaro in the very first review, they later than reward it fun car of the year. wtf.

they have a distaste for austrians and americans in general. but they did say the car was a lot of fun in the review, same thing with the corvette C6 and the SRT-10, and praised the mustang and the CTS.

Anyone else getting sick of the re-runs of 5th gear on Speed Channel? I DVR the series but I've seen them all, and from the Viper link it looks like they're close to 2 years old

I'd like Fifth Gear a lot better if not for that turd Jason Plato and the fat guy, both of whom are endlessly annoying to me. Tiff is still great, and Vicki's not bad either. I definitely skip through much of the show, though, whereas I watch all of TG.

I was a little surprised to see Jason Plato (who is an annoying tool, but an accomplished racing driver) spank Tiff in the Viper vs. Vette race, then say there was nothing he liked about the Viper.

is 5th gear based in england also ? I can certainly do without the accents and the "pounds" when they speak about price. Top Gear is plenty funny though.

Yes, it's also an English show, although it's carried on the Speed Channel in the US.
