No Passport Checks in England

It seems you can catch a train in to England from France and they did not even check your passport when you get off the train. Very interesting.

I didn't think they checked passports anywhere in the EU when travelling from one EU country to another.

That is true. Only Italy and Spain have chosen to restrict their borders as a result of the London bombings. Any other EU country you are free to travel through without customs (think US).

well i call that freedom, I always go to europe and get the train in Paris to end in Sicilia Italia where my family is living. No checks in the borders...

They should feel free to do that if they want, but I don't see a problem with everyone else not doing it. ID checks are largely worthless for security in public areas like airports and train stations.

Yeah it is. When I went to UK a couple of years ago and crossed the channel into France, they checked passports. UK is not part of the EU, so the thing about not checking passports traveling in the EU dosent apply.

Yeah it is. When I went to UK a couple of years ago and crossed the channel into France, they checked passports. UK is not part of the EU, so the thing about not checking passports traveling in the EU dosent apply.

UK is part of the EU since 1973, but the no passport agreement is an other treaty which the UK didn't sign, like you said.
