Equipment being used:
Asus p5w DH delux Mobo
Conroe e6400 c2d
enermax 535lv PSU <<<suspected culprit
Atir Radeon Asus x1900xt
1gb corsair ddr2 800 memory (1 dimm)
HDD none
Optical None
System is set up except for hdd and optical drives. When I first turn on the psu my computer attempts to boot without permission (I touched no buttons). All the fans spin and the HDD spins up but the moniter recieves no signal and the keyboard remains unlit (Usb keyboard with LED backlighting, no caps or num lights). You can turn the comp off via 4 seconds on the power button then it functions like normal however it still dosen't post.
After fiddiling around and trying the usual tricks (Bios reset, move ram to different dimm) I noticed that there is a cord missing from the EATX 24 pin connector on the PSU leading to the mobo. When I looked up which cord it was in the mobo manual it was simply labeled as "-5 volts" it is in the 20 pin part of the connector and sits across from the pin labeld "power ok"
Any idea if this is whats wrong with the system? Is this cord even needed? Having attempted to run without this cord could I have damaged oter compnents?

P.S. if you happen to figure out whats wrong with the comptuer (Other than the PSU thing) there is a good chance that you will get an old 6800gt PCIe graphics card (dead fan) that I have laying around!
