No post on ECS k8m800-m2

[Snakes on a Plane]

I have an ecs k8m800-m2 and a venice 3200+ socket 754 and no matter what I do, i get no post. No speaker out so no beeps. HDD spins up but no video.

I have seen some very peculiar behavior though.

1.The system will start up just when i flick the PSU switch without touching the button on the front.
2. The system will start up when I take the clear cmos jumper out and put it back in. I have never seen this in any computer I have worked on before.

Can anyone help?

ECS motherboards are a known low quality componant, so that would be my first thought. However you may want to make sure that your brass standloffs arent touching anything other than where they are supposed to be. Also, make sure your 4 pin power connector is plugged in.

well i took it out of case to try that and then the PSU blew up, so i guess we know what the problem is

o well, it was a 4 year old raidmax suprised it lasted this long anyways
