No POST on vnf4 ultra

Brand new rig wont post. Just beeps once every 4 seconds. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Aside from the mobo i have 2x120GB SATA, BFG 6800 GT OC, BFG 550W psu, and generic optical/floppy drives. Thats it! I thought for sure this would post.

Unplug everything except for the CPU, RAM, and video card and try again.

Try reseating your memory modules too.

Will do as soon as i get home. Had to come into my office for this since Crappytechnologies.net (my ISP) decides to not let me use my connection (that i pay $40/month for) on certain days.

[edit]@ dfedders, by everything do you really mean EVERYTHING (fans, front USB hookups, etc) or just the peripherials (optical, floppy, HDs, etc)? Thanks. [/edit]

I would unplug everything but the power switch connector, and also any unnecessary devices connected to the back panel (only keep the keyboard there). If your fans are plugged directly to the motherboard, disconnect them too.

Except the CPU fan.... PLEASE do NOT unplug that -- unless you are not overly fond of your CPU, and are trying to get your wife to let you replace it .

Thanks for the suggestions, but none of them worked. Absolutely no change in events after i power up. Just beeping and flashing power led. This can not be good, eh?

I had one like that, went down to Frys and got extra cpu, memory etc and nothing worked. Had to RMA the sucker.

Awww, damn...things are not looking good for our young hero. :|

On the upside, i only just ordered my DVD drives yesterday. Some fly-by-night online retailer didnt accept my order. So i waited a week for drives that were never ordered.

Have you tried it out of the case to eliminate any shorts? Be sure to set on something NON- conductive.

No. I will give that a shot, but i already have an approved RMA to newegg. Thanks for the suggestion.

does anyone know what it means if your boot hangs at boot code 50? I got a "delayed write error" in windows, restarted my computer, and now my system is hanging.

Un-overclock everything. Reset the BIOS to factory settings and see if it's more stable. You could also try removing any other unnecessary hardware such as a sound card and disconnect the hard drives and see if you can at least get a good post. In the past I've had to reset the CMOS jumper to clear the BIOS back to factory settings before I could get a mobo to post. If it still fails it could be "bad" RAM. These NForce boards are very particular about memory. If nothing else works you could have a bad mobo.

nevermind, for some reason my external usb crashed or something, and it screwed everthing up. I just turned it off and back on, and now it's fine.

On another note, is anyone having trouble running at 1T timings? My freakin corsair value ram fails memtest and prime95 at 1t, even when underclocked or with loose timings. Oh, well, screw it, i'm RMA'ing it for some Crucial Ballistix PC4000, I'm sick of having to worry about memory dividers and stuff. I've heard overclocking on the A64 is awesome with those modules. And i didn't think $230 including shipping was all that horrible, plus it game me the excuse to go ahead and grab a Zalman northbridge cooler (only like $5, but i didn't feel like ordering it all by itself).
