Just built a cheapo comp for my buddy and I cannot get it to post.

All the fans (vid card, hsf, psu) turn on the hard drive spins and the mobo lights up.

But NO beep(s)

No Post. The monitor just frowns blinking...

Nvidia 5200 Fx
1.6 ghz w/ cooler master
512 pc3200
80gb 7200 8mb cache
52x cdrw
codegen 350 watt (115/230v)

Have you tried with the bare minimums? 1 stick of ram, video card, and cpu/HSF? Is that 1.6ghz chip a northwood or a williamette? The reason I ask, is because the board doesn't appear to support williamette cores.

If it still doesn't post with the bare minimums, take out the ram and see if it beeps at you. Then do the same with the video card. If still nothing, take the motherboard out of the case, place it on a non-conductive surface, and try again using the bare minimums. If the wires for the power switch won't reach, you can use a screw driver to short together the 2 pins that the power switch connect to to power it up.

codegen 350 watt (115/230v), if I remember correctly that power supply is on the low quality end. Do you have another power supply you could test it out with? Also did you do what stevty said to do?

yes I did, no dice...

update; bending the AE1 pin on the cpu and it works like a charm.....
