No recommendations for Intel's 850E ?

Any nonOCs out there recommending Intel's own boards specifically the newer 850E and RDRAM?

On paper I've setteled on the Gigabyte GA-8IHXP, but I'm holding off spending my pennies until I can see some reviews, and hear some of Anantech's member experiences. A few days ago some members ordered their IHXP's, but I havn't heard any more about their experiences.

I looked at the Intel board and seen reviews. Since they only support 40 NS PC800 RDrams, I decided to go with the Asus P4T533-c motherboard with a pair of Samsung PC1066 Rdram memory chips. This way I will get the best performance for my P4. Plus, the latest bios updates from Asus are allowing users to select PC1066 now for the Rdrams.

Asus P4T533-C would be prefferable, but it is expensive. If you need a cheaper alternative, then Abit's TH7II which while it uses the original 850, it runs 533fsb and PC1066 fine and can be had for $200 at Newegg. Take your pick. Both great boards.

Yah, the P4T533 is solid too although I cannot find it in stores yet. Just a note, the P4T533 only supports the new 32-bit RIMM4200 and RIMM3200 and does not need to be installed in pairs so you wqould need RIMM4200 to go with P4T533. There is however no performance increase for RIMM4200 over PC1066.

I just checked www.hotware.com for a review on the Asus P4T533. A 512 MB PC4200 module will be included with the motherboard for about $300. That is a good value since two separate 256 MB PC1066 modules cost around $260 and with the P4T533-C motherboard costing around $170. It might be worth waiting for the P4T533 motherboard for the value.
