I have just purchased K8N Neo2 Platinum Mob, AMD 64 winchester 3500+ CPU, and Kingston 512 Ram DDR 3200. After I connected my power, CPU, Rams, and Video, there is no signal to monitor. The monitor keep stay in blank mode(susspend mode). I tried to pull out the RAM from Mob and there is no warning beep also. My power supply is thermaltake 480silent. The LED signal is keep at booting and bio's detection section;however, I can't see anything on monitor. Can anyone helps me??

The Neo2 Platinum requires the 1.3 BIOS or later, to support a Winchester-core CPU. I'm not sure if there's a way to discern which BIOS your board came with, but if it happens to have a sticker on the BIOS chip that says, check and see if any of the markings reveal that info.

bios version should be on the front page in the manual with the date. I returned mine and ordered the a8v deluxe instead. Lets see how that turns out..

Sweet, thanks for this tip

Oh yeah! Finally a question I can answer!

My Abit AV8 had the same problem with my AMD Winchester CPU. And it is the BIOS version. Once I got a new BIOS chip, it started like a dream.

Thanks for the fast reply.

I tried to find the bio's version on user manual. However, the quick user guide does not show the Bio's version. The format and detail for the user manual is really bad for MSI. I tried to unplug the CPU and just connect the HDD LED, Power Switch, Reset Switch, and Speaker cords. but there was no warning beeping on component missing. Is this normal??

When I was having the problem, I got nothing. No beeps, no useful POST codes, not a thing. I don't even think my hard drives spun. Your BIOS chip probably has a printed code that has version information either on the chip or near the chip. My Abit AV8 had a sticker right next to the socket that has version info.

Check with MSI for more info.

It said rev.1.0 in between my PCI slot on my motherboard. So, this means the only solution I can do is to change my BIOS by sent back to manufactor?? I ordered from Zipzoomfly.com. Can I just sent back to them for replacement?? or I probably will get same stuff back?? Or there is anyother solution I can do?? I tried to take off CMOS battery and tried change few RAMS still no response to Monitor. I can't see Bios running.

The 1.0 is more likely to mean the revision level of the printed circuit board, not the BIOS that's installed. Look right on the BIOS chip itself, it's a little guy that looks something like this. Otherwise you might call up MSI's tech-support and see if they'll spot you a new BIOS chip and a chip-puller tool. Make sure to explain that you're stuck in 90nm land with a non-supporting BIOS, so they send you the new version.

If they send you a chip puller, you'r eone up on me. Abit didn't even send me instructions, the cheap bastards.

MSI should send you a new chip. Abit at least did that for me.
