No sandy bridge mobos no mo?

Well, imagine my frustration when I was going to build my SB rig at the end of Feb, beginning of March, when this whole Intel debacle appeared.

I was still going buy the proc and a P67 mobo, regardless of the issues the chipset has, as I don't have too many devices that use SATA 3Gbs, but now, I find that most etailers have not only yanked the boards but the procs as well.

So now, I am kinda stuck till end of March, mid April, end Sept?? till I can get the new rev boards.

Man, kinda makes me want to go AMD or to Intel P55. It's that or squeeze some more life from my again Socket 775 X6800.

Thanks for reading my vent.

Anyone else in the same boat as me?

You can still find the boards and processors on ebay if you are willing to go that route.

I got mine from here: http://www.excaliberpc.com/hardware/...55.html?sort=2 on "opening day" for Sandy Bridge. I would have ordered from Newegg, but Newegg didn't have the Evo model for almost a week. If you look at that page, there are still a bunch of H67s and P67s "in stock". It seems believable that they are really selling them because many others are listed as "out of stock" or "please call", and the in stock ones have quantities listed. So it seems that ExcaliberPC isn't heeding the recall.

They also didn't send me an email offering to replace it like Newegg did. And their return policy is only 14 days and is littered with unavoidable restocking fees. So make sure you really want one before you order.

I wish I'd waited a week and ordered from Newegg instead. I got the CPU and memory from Newegg, just not the motherboard.

I don't think I am willing to pay what I am sure will be stupid prices on Ebay for SB parts.

If I had the money today, I most certainly would buy the SB parts I need and use the board until such time as I can RMA it or just find a hardware solution, most ppl seem to feel that using a SATA PCI add on onboard would do the trick.

Honestly, I only have two SATA I HD's and an IDE DVD burner in my rig, so I shouldn't have any troubles with any SB based board I purchase, correct?

Might have an issue plugging an IDE anything into a sandy bridge board.

Edit: Looks like some boards do have IDE
