No Screen Display

I just got all my new parts and when i turn on my puter i get no screen display. I have tried different processor, monitor, graphics card, and memory, with the motherboard and still get the same results so it seems like the problem is with the mother board though the led on the mobo turns on when it gets power. Everything sounds like it should be running but nothing comes on screen. There are no skrews or anything behind the mobo that would short it out.

What do you think? Is there anything else i could do. Is there something that i am supposed to do to the mobo before it runs (Asus A7V333). What could possibly be the problem?

Do you get any beep codes? Does the monitor ever come out of sleep mode? Does the monitor even work? Are the brightness and contrast settings turned up?


Try reseting the BIOS and booting with just the CPU, one DIMM, and video card.

As suggested in an earlier post . . . try resetting the BIOS via the Reset Jumper and boot with just the video card and one stick of RAM.

If that works, then skip all other CMOS settings that will be wrong because of the reset (time, etc.) and go directly to the page where you set your CPU and FSB speeds and you will find they are at their lower (safe) settings. Reset them to the proper value for your CPU and RAM and reboot.

If it then will not reboot (has a power LED, but no video signal as indicated by a yellow LED on the monitor), then try replacing your power supply.

I ran into this problem on a new system recently, and had replaced the motherboard, then the CPU, then the motherboard, CPU and RAM after having the replacements bench-tested by my supplier, and nothing worked. My power supply values were all correct, but for some unknown reason it wouldn't work with the CPU and RAM buses turned all the way up.

Somebody suggested replacement of the power supply and out of desperation I decided to give it a shot. The original was a brand new 300W, and the replacement was a used 300W, both being of the standard variety. The faulty power supply would allow the system to fire up and run all day, as long as you left it at 100/100, or 100/133, but as soon as you pushed it all the way to 133/133 it would fail . . . and resetting the CMOS to get it back to 100/100 worked every time.

I'm not sure how you would test for this malfuction other then a test replacement, but I am going to go over to the Highly Technical section later this evening and see if I can get another test method . . . along with an explaination of exactly what the likely failure was.

I allready got it packed up and about to send it but ill see if i can get it working, I'm guessing that all this reseting, and cmosf is in my mobo manual.
