no sound out of rear 2 speakers? any ideas?

Hi Techies,

Once again, I come to you for help. I have the Turtlebeach Santa Cruz sound card and the Cambridge Soundworks FPS 2000 4.1 speakers. For some reason, with everything that I play, I don't get sound out of the rear two speakers. I know the rear two speakers work though because I've swapped them around and sound comes out of them, but for some reason I can't get all 4 to play at the same time. I've messed with a lot of the different settings in the control panel like changing the configuration to 4.1 digital, 4, analog, etc, but nothing seems to work. All of my software is updated, etc. Anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking about getting a new 5.1 logitech speaker system, but if I'd still have the same problem, then I'd probably have to get another soundcard as well. Please let me know if you any ideas.

right click on the speaker in the tray select adjust audio properites. under speaker settings click advanced and select the right type of speaker setup quadraphonic for front and rear or whatever it is you actually have.

Thanks for the help. For some reason when I got home today I turned on my computer, and went to those setting you told me to go to. Quadraphonic was already selected, but I decided to turn on my music again to check out the speakers, and all 4 were working. Maybe I just had to restart my computer for the new settings that I was messing with yesterday to kick in.

Thanks...I think not having service pack 1 installed with xp might be causing some of the problems as well. I recently reinstalled windows xp pro, but forgot to install the service pack 1. I will use the sound testing link if I'm still having problems.
